Ok here is the dealo,
Try staying away from the big boys at all costs... they are your last resort(Werner, Schnieder, Swift etc... etc). Try some smaller regional guys that require you to go meet them, pick up an application, and drop it off to them. See if you can, talk to them... call them and ask what time is good for them...mornings are usually bad even for a phone call... middle to late afternoon seemed best when I was job hunting. Tell them your situation, you wanna make money, and just need an opportunity.
Find out what trucks they run and read up on them... the more knowlege the better...
It worked for me, and my first year trucking I made just over $48,000 not bad considering the people I went to school with, that went with the big boys, made $10,000 to $20,000 less than I did their first year. (no goofy trainer horror show etc.)
I'm a student, what company do I apply and go to?

There are no great companies, not for beginners anyway. And if there were great companies, the waiting list would be three years long.
There are only pretty good companies and then the others...
