Please come to where I live and find me some of these jobs where I stay home everyday and make $700 plus a week. Where do you find these jobs, on the internet? Those are called scams. There are no readily available jobs making $700/week where I live, trust me I would have one if there were. Good luck with that driving empty thing, hope it works well for you.

Where do you live in central indiana? -
This is another Big Rigger question I hate to hear. Where is everybody supposed to work? What is the solution? There are not enough good small companies to employ everyone. Not everyone can be an owner op. So, whats left? Big Companies. Its just the way it is. In life we are sometimes forced to settle. Also, if all those small companies take us all on board, then they turn into a mega company, thus keeping the problem around. Didn't many of your larger carriers start out small? You gotta hope for the best and keep trying or find another profession, and then deal with the problems of that career.

Good drivers go to work for the GOOD small outfits which at times HELP them turn into BIG companies , who then have to hire just about ANYONE to keep up with the DEMAND.

You can find good situations with a little effort. I am new to trucking, but I work for a small (125 trucks) company. I am home every weekend and usually 1-2 nights during the week as well. Other than my 1 training week and my first week solo, I have grossed at least $1200 per week.
Legwork is essential when looking for these opportunities. The company I got hired with didn't advertise. I knocked on their door, filled out an app, had an interview and was hired. There is a lot of truth to the statement "the best companies don't advertise".Starchdoggy, Lonesome, superflow and 2 others Thank this. -
Am I the only one that lives in a county that DOES NOT have a single OTR company?
The couple local jobs there are are seasonal at best and top out in the $12-14 per hour range and have little if any bennies
So how is it that if I looked around I could find this $700 per week home every night job. Lets also keep in mind that in the best of times my area has a 13% unemployment rate. -
Aurora Trailer Parts has a distribution warehouse in Lebanon, IN close to the Flying J. Both Schneider and JB Hunt have dedicated jobs working out of there. I filled in for 3 weeks running out of there for JB Hunt. I made 1200-1300 week the 3 weeks I worked there. They (JB drivers) work 5 1/2-6 days week are home Sundays and last I heard had Jeff S. as their FM (who is awesome). If I lived where you do that's what I'd do.Starchdoggy Thanks this.
