Hi guys. Can someone be kind enough to give me some tips on replacing the black plastic panel that let airlines and wires thur the firewall, which is next to the clutch master cylinder. The plastic developed some hairline crack and causing some air leak. I am at lost on how to remove the big data plug socket from it.

Exactly is MCFC. But how do I get it out. I don't just yank it out, I suppose.

Someone should have done this before cause I saw quite a few 05 and 06 with non-original updated new styled panal. I think its a common problem.

Look carefully at connector. Volvo like to use european connectors with clamp locks. Look at connector, you will see. if you are not sure post me a shot. sometimes to pull connector out I have to push it in, then depress lock and then pull out. Sometomes connectors are held with small bolt in the center, with hex ore torx head.

Please ignore the caption in the picture. It is just a picture I pull from the Internet.

Another view of the panel front and back from eBay

I don't have a picture of it in my own truck but I found a picture of it on the Internet. I suppose that could be a screw hidden in the center under the bunch of wires. I will have to wait until tomorrow to find out when I get back to my truck.

yeah, I checked yesterday. This bolt for 8mm socket.

    I was wrong, not 4mm, 8mm (5/16").......

Irony, yesterday I had to remove this connector to find lost J1708.... and found two toasted units... ABS and CM870....

I wanna fix cummins ECM this week.
