For the love of God no. Do not bother taking any job like this that does not pay either a higher rate or overtime or both

I start orientation on sunday and am heading up to Dallas in the morning...

I have applied with HLI, EagleOne, Gold Spur, Chalk Mountain and others. I got interviews with HLI, Gold Spur and EagleOne but once they looked at my MVR I did not qualify.
I'm looking forward to working for Schneider. If it sucks I can find something better in a few months. I haven't driven in 2.5 years and just renewed my CDL in May. Some comanies just can't hire me due to their insurance carriers.
I will try to remember to post on this forum for anyone who wants to know more about my experience with Schneider or hauling frac sand in general.
BTW: I was heading north on IH35 on the northside of San Antonio and saw 5 Chalk Mountain trucks heading north. They appeared to be empty. Perhaps going to get more sand! -
Nothing personal, but guys like this is why the wage is so far down. They offer some low-ball pay. Some guy comes along and says I need the experiance and the job is filled. A year from now or most of the time a lot less he quits, and the cycle starts agian. As long as its that easy for someone to stop and start in this industry the wages will remain low. These companies know this, and this is where driving schools are born. Its a never ending cycle.

They have apparently re-defined the week
"This Position Features:
More than weekly time at home. 6 days on and 1 days off"
If no one shows up to drive they will whine and gnash their teeth about the driver shortage and the southern boarder will be opened...... -
Well isn't that special!?!
Say it like the church lady. -
Google that phone number and you'll find it's in Green Bay and also find hits for a lot of other ads for other companies.

So how is it going so far? What are they going to pay you? -
I completed the orientation process on Thursday and was sent home. We are supposed to get $925 per week for 4-6 weeks. They don't know or won't tell us details about what the actual pay rate is going to be after that. At first I thought this was just a pneumatic trailer frac sand type job but it seems we will moving other equipment as well. Generally speaking we will be home every night. They are moving the yard from Leming to San Antonio. When?, I don't know. These are things I just heard but I am not sure about any of it. I am starting on Wednesday so I will keep yall posted.
I stopped driving in 2008 to care for a family member. I was driving a gasoline tanker here in San Antonio. I dropped my CDL at that time. I just renewed it in April 2011. Some of the companies insurance require you to have your CDL for 12 months before you will be considered for employment. I appreciate this opportunity with Schneider. I have to support my family.
Speaking of wages HLI energy services were going to pay $16.00 per hour plus overtime. They could have started me at $17 or $18 per hour they said if I had end dump experience. I only had tanker (gasoline not water). They have water trucks(vacuum) and end dumps. I don't know exactly why I didn't qualify. Also since I live in San Antonio I would have had to commute to Dilley or Gilette.
PSI frac logistics has trucks based out of Penske on Commerce near US 90. Their recruiter said they paid $250 per day per load to pick up loads in Gonzales (frac sand) deliver them and return to the yard no matter if it took you 8 or 14 hours. I think they paid extra per hour if it went over 14.
I only applied with companies offering medical benefits. Most started after 90 days. Since I have experience driving already Schneider's benefits start after 60 days. -
Keep us updated Stepanahalf. Schiender is offering the same deal here in Oklahom. If hired the driver would be driving shlumberger equipment. I was surprised to see schnieder involved in this with someone elses equipment.
