I really don't think that is a fair assumption. This would be like a weekend dispatcher saying after a new driver failed a load he had to explain, and say that truck drivers don't have a clue.
Please note, that most up and coming dispatchers start on nights, then move to days working weekends.
We have many very experienced Fleet Managers that work weekends on the 4x4 shift.
Most of the weekend folks take their jobs just as serious as most of the drivers take theirs.
IF these folks don't have a clue, I bet they would welcome you in, to show them just exactly how to get the job done.

thanks for the detailed answers to my ?'s I have a couple others.
I enjoy running midwest and west more than east if i move to conway tl as a company solo driver would they let me run those regions or would they just keep me out east all the time.
On your answer on hometime, i like staying out a month and taking 5 or 6 days. days will they let me do that. -
I know it is 1 day for every 7 on the road. not sure about xtra time have not started yet. but as the saying goes if the wheels not turning then I am not earning (neither is the company)
I'm hopeing for some good runs, beable to take a 34 reset now and then. stay out for 5weeks then take 5 days but i guess it all depends on the freight. -
I'm going to be heading to orientation in about a month with them. Anything to watch out for?

Just a few things they call "deal breakers".. no matter what your driving history, good, bad, whatever, DO NOT lie to them about it. Other than that, enjoy being around good people in a good company.
blktop-bucanear and vmaggs Thank this. -
What about this obstacle course I've been reading about?
-
I asked this one another thread but , what exactly goes on in boot camp . Im headed there on july 3rd.

There is classroom stuff, the obstacle course, the night drive, 45 degree backing practice, shifting practice, and the skid pad. Simply put....keep your mouth closed, ears and eyes open, and be teachable. Those instructors there know their stuff. It's really no big deal, and you WILL learn something while you are there.blktop-bucanear and vmaggs Thank this. -

My husband is currently working at Central Hauling (CalArk) and is thinking of taking our truck to Conway. Does anyone know if the Owner op side is worth switching to?
