Avoid the Flying J in Texarkana, AR. The place is very small and if you need a place to park then don't show up after 6. By 7 there's no room left.

This goes for the Kansas City, MO Flying J as well.

On the plus side, neither of these two locations have a Denny's!

    Yet.

That really pisses a lot of guys off. No buffet or salad bar, nothing good on the menu unless it's breakfast time, and your Pilot/Flying J Frequent Fueler cards don't work there.

I made the mistake of taking my 10hr brk there, ONCE. Even got a lucky(i thought) front row pull-thru parking spot. Pulled back my cab curtains @0230 to find trucks TRIPLE PARKED !!! in the driveway, no way to get out.

I tried to get the not-so-bright employee's to have the inconsiderate drivers move into the spots that had opened overnite, futile. I even tried the local sheriff, was told "private property" Flying J would have to call,or there had to be a crime.

Finally, after 3hr wait, enough legally parked trucks managed to get out on my right so I could circle back & exit that hellhole.

Needless to say ,I was 3hrs late for my del.:biggrin_25510:

Been to that J twice. First time, pretty much full, so I went on.

Last time, probably six months ago, I pulled through for a quick break and that was it.

Yeah, it's on my "avoid" list.

Did you bother asking the drivers? The first time I would ask nicely. The second time there would be a crime. Then the sheriffs dept can come out. :)

It probably would have taken the same 3hrs to get those drivers moved. When I said triple parked, I mean it was end-to-end in the driveway. There where even trucks trying to re-occupy the spots along the drive as they emptied, tho there were spots in the rows behind. Just another example of the me 1st attitude so common in todays world.
