Are you leasing to the ex owner of the vehicle? Make him pay the plates in your lease agreement
Going to NV or AZ should be easy if you are leasing on. If you have your own authority I could see having other issues. Dont know what they are, but could see you having some.

You bought it directly from the previous owner? Take it back. The transaction was not legal. If it had back fees, he has to disclose them or pay them.
-
Ny started doing it. Any back taxes for road or use tax etc stay with the truck not the owner. Another way they can gurantee getting there money.
-
This is really ridiculous. No wonder folks are leaving NY. The Mayor thought the decrease in population was a lie. Hope someone informs that tyrannical dictator that it's the truth. Hopefully those leaving just move, and leave their voting habits that ruined the state there, instead of bringing them along to ruin the state they are moving to. Back taxes or anything else owed by the previous owner is the responsibility of....you guessed it, the previous owner. That is plain common sense. Well, it should be, but some politicians lack common sense and are just looking to take more of the people's money.
Why do they call it common sense anyways? In regards to the bureaucrats and politicians it is a rare thing to come across. They should change it to "rare sense" as many are plainly lacking in the sense department.
Fight that 7K all the way.
Best of luck,

i will try an fight those fees, the previous owner put the truck on none op back in 09 but didnt renon op it on 2010 so they want the fees for aug 10 to present. so its not road tax or anything just reg fees. I have bein tring to call the people i work for and they havent being answering calls so i guess im unemployed with a truck i cant use wow this sux.
-
oh i was suppose to run under there authority but dont think thats gong to happen anymore, An do wanna return the truck since i have 1k invested into it. So do you guys think i have a chance registering it outta state an leasing on to a company till i can get my own authority? Boy im learning how much a little research is worth.
-
Return the truck tell them you want your money back if not you will see them in small claims court. And if that doesn't work out consider it as a lesson learned. I would rather lose 1k then 7k.
-
If you paid them by check, STOP PAYMENT on it.
GuysLady Thanks this. -
You better check the status on the 2290 also. That goes with the truck. If the previous owner didn't pay it current, you'll also have to bring it up to current.
-
i payed them in cash so i guess i might have to goto court a fight for the money, an jusy for fun how do i check the status of the 2290?? im sure its not up to date either
