    Because As of 5 months ago, my uncle(Who lives with me and my grandparents who has a medical condition needs to be taken care of and my Grandparents are old, and I don't want him to be a burden as he is to me; So We (Me and My Uncle) Agreed that If he doesn't find a place and a nurse to take care of him within the days remaining (187 Days) then he will go into a nursing home or a permanent housing with nurses. I could go into more detail but for his privacy and mine i will not.

    I will start applying to local jobs like walmart, Target, Kmart etc etc and try to get into a 'warehouse or fork lift or a unloader/loader etc' or maybe even a driver position.

    Clean (only had my license for 5 years), and Partially Clean but was erased once i turned 18

    Family, Don't have much of, Hometime is really probably the important thing here but not need to be home with wife and kids... and pay check All i need is to have food and again 2 or 3 worldly items :p

    Yes, I'm pretty hard headed on the things i want; I've told my uncle about CR and how bad it is and he wishes he would listen to me but again who would listen to a 20 year old :p ...

    Summary of why i want to be a truck driver ;

    The reason i want to go trucking; is about the same reason as you; 1) View changes every minute, Get to see things other people do not. 2) no Office to go to no boss hanging over your should 3) The sound of the egines and the jake breaks 4) Get to be by my self with the radio of others <face>:)</face> 5) Freedom 6) I'm working while doing something I love to do and practice all the reason above; 7) Be isolated from the worlds problems (although they still affect me but i get more clloser of having a relationship with my Lord and saviour..

    8) i get paid for doing all the above

    LOL. That's the main reason I wanted to go into trucking also. I always liked seeing nice Peterbilts and Kenworths with chrome and loud pipes. :biggrin_25519:

    Yes Sir

    I've called around, Swift and Prime needs you to be 23 Years old I guess; It's only 21 if you have been the in service; So I'm thinking about Werner or CRST (Have to call CRST and find out what they require).. Werner said Volunteer Expierence is A OK; So Most likely going to be with them for a year or two then switch off to another company. Not to sure yet;

    Please don't instantly jump into this because a company will accept your volunteer experience. I'm going to be honest, you really need some work history. However, I ask you to think about reconsidering signing yourself to Werner for a year.. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/werner/ --- http://www.holyflyingmonkeys.com/index.html -- These site's will put more of a image in your mind on how the company operates. I'm not telling you don't go with them, just make sure you know what your signing a year of your life to. Edit: I'm also not suggesting that every ones experience will turn out like the drivers who had bad ones, but you need to get the general thought of how things are done.

    Try Roehl and Millis Transfer in WI. But bot all of Roehl's trucks have APU's and they have very strict idling policies so it will sucks in hot weather.

    I briefly read all your posts (original OP). Are you planning on attending school or what ? Are you paying for said school ? If so, go now and get your CDL NOW, and then worry about a job next year.

    most companys will not take a student past 30 days out of scholl with no experience and would probably need to take a refresher course. at least that is what i've been told from one.
