    Our S.O. is licensed for marine band IN the boats as for other uses I am not a expert on marine radios but it would be logical if they are on the water it would be legal just as it would be legal for any boater.
    EXCEPT for the calling channel i don't beleve idle chatter is illegal in boat.

    There was a stink a year or so ago when I think it was Indianapolis cops were using 2 meters to chat and be secretive on, without licenses, and they got read the riot act by the FCC.
