i was looking around the CSA website and i found where i got a speeding ticket in missouri. here it is, can someone that is more familiar with the CSA crap tell me how many points this actually cost me?

the original thread on this ticket is here http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...9300-fight-speeding-ticket-mo-pay-ticket.html

the only ticket i got was for the speeding, but there was an 11 hour violation that he found on like day 6 of the logbook inspection. i had gone over a half hour when driving from night into the next day, then taking a break before driving again.

the report from the CSA is here.

go back to your original posting as i had already mentioned it is 5 points on paper...BUT in all reality, you really DO HAVE 15 points right now on the speeding ticket..they multiply the points by 3 when new. one year later they go down to double, the last year, back to the original point value..

so, until 12/17/2011....you have (now) 15 points

at 12/17/2012....you will have 10 points.

the points stay on you for 3 years.

You're a professional (or supposed to be) driver... not an amateur 4-wheeler. You know the penalties, and the consequences. If you want to keep your livelyhood, you know what you need to do.

Driving for a living is not a right... its a privilege.

Whoever was driving stuck it to the driver. Also, the 15 points is for speeding, the other items have points also. Fatigued driving is a big one.

I don't know how your state handles moving violations, but mine has used a system quite similar to the CSA point system in most ways for the 38 years I have been driving. A speeding ticket is 3 points; in 1 year it goes to 2 points, 2 years to 1 point and 3 years to zero. That is against 12 points in 12 months for a 1-year revocation or 8 points in 18 months is a 30-day suspension. That would be four (in 12 mo) or three (in 18 mo) speeding tickets to hit the threshold.

While tripling the points may seem a little aggressive, if you compare it to the CSA threshold, based on my knowledge, it is actually a little less aggressive than my state and probably most others. If my knowledge and math are correct, and they may well not be, it would take more than four speeding tickets to trigger the CSA threshold. That's not saying a trucking company wouldn't say "time out" much sooner.

WOW! That speaks volumes about what the company culture was or is. I say was offering the benefit of the doubt and assuming they are scrambling to salvage their operation.

By looking back two years at the start of this rating system, many companies have a bad score. But then who couldn't see the writing on the wall and why were they running such a loose operation?

It is downright hard to find a big company with a good score. Still I wouldn't associate myself with a company that was facing or going through an intervention. It brings me a little satisfaction that drivers can finally check companies' history like they have always done us. While I despise government regulation, I can't see how this won't improve the conditions of what is expected of the driver.
