The middle finger part begins at 28:50 of this video. I can't help but shake my head at the sheer stupidity on his part in open court, giving the "middle finger of affection" to one of the attorneys. :biggrin_25513:

    Judge schooled this kid!!:biggrin_25514:

I love that Judge. He's got it all together...and sharp as a tack. This is the second person that was in the audience that got the cattle prod. This kid is spending 6 days in the jail and the fine total plus court cost is $6xx. It was classic. Folks need to know how to act in a court setting. First rule is don't piss off the judge.:yes2557:

In the news report I saw, he was 28 years old, from Orlando, Florida, a server at a restuarant like TGI Fridays and not related to the family or anything. He was just there as a court spectator and now he goes off and gets himself an arrest record.

I wonder if this will affect him keeping his job or getting another job down the road.

Do they have to bring in Judge Judy to help keep the peace in the courtroom? He got six days in jail and a fine. Also, he's having to pay court costs, too.

The report I saw said he will appeal. I wonder if the appeal does not go his way, will he give the finger to the judge and prosecutor in THAT trial?

If he was found in contempt of court there is no appeal. The Judge may find anyone in the court room in contempt for anything that disrupts the proceedings. Next time in court forget to kill your cell phone and you'll get a first hand lesson how this works.

Although it is a summary judgement, if you watch the video the judge asks him if he wants to appeal and appoints a lawyer for him.

The convicted is a moron. I'm sure he thought he was being cute or funny, but he just screwed himself.

How long before he shows up here wondering how to get a driving job? :biggrin_25523:

The judge explicitly states that the guy has the right to appeal his decision of criminal contempt charges.

Hopefully this guy learned a lesson is court ettiquite.

I was in a courtroom once and that happened to someone in there. Judge put him up, and then shot him down. Directed his attention to the signs that say "Cell phones must be turned off in the courtroom." Poor guy got a week in the pokey.
