Thanks for the update, bumpinbumper. !
I actually just got back from Boulder, Co this morning. We ran up to the 40 over to the 25 and up, Same route back as well. I've never been up in Co before so it was a change of pace. I mean 6 runs to Cali and back, uhhg..
I ran as far as I could on the way up, stopped once at a TA just coming into NM, and made it up to Las Vegas, NM before the QC started panicing on me, lol.. I ran till I had 20 mins left. 5 to do log's, 15 to do post trip. I LOVE these e-logs, sooo ready to get off paper. We also got a scanner put in the truck this week as well, no more truck stop scans, or late/early morning terminal scans, i like it.
I'm down to 11hrs left on my 70, so is my mentor, I think we will do a fast turn n burn to Redlands, Ca and reset, as I have two 0 days coming up.. #### mentor and his days off, it really hurt us on hours, but hey.. I'm a rookie and these things are best to happen now rather than later, right?? lol
I'm also finding it extreemly hard to sleep while the truck is running, I'm not sure if my brain trusts other people to drive while it wants to rest or what.. Usually after the 2nd day I'm so exhausted I just crashout and wake in a diff state feeling all skippy..
Yea, that area of Palm Springs is crazy at times, CRAZY... Last night there was wind advisory along the 40, pffft.. I sailed thru there like it was nothing after dealing with Palm spring all last week.. heh..
Thanks for listening.. !

Can't believe I'm almost done with my 240hrs. These Denver and SLC trips are eatting away at that 240 like Pac Man on crack, yet when I get off the truck after 2-3 days I feel like I've been on a 3-day bender, lol..
So far all is well, no complaints at all. When we returned to the Target DC here in Phx lastnight, I practiced moving 5th wheel & tandems, seems pretty straight forward, then again newer trailors so things moved/slid well.
Running up the 89 & 20 going towards SLC, UT is a blast, my shifting is spot on now, which was a concern of mine right out of the academy. No worries now, no grinding at all... ok maybe once here n there but, grind happens...
I see a ton of Swift trucks out on the road, and 'used to wave' as a courtesy, which now has all together stopped. Seems Swift drivers would be more inclined to say HI or whatnot. I've noticed that I get more CB chatter, truck stop talk from other guys/girls running other outfits, as the Swift guys are off in their own world. No big deal, as i'm not out there to make friends or such, just making comment. It just amazes me how you can work for the same Co. and be so far removed from the basic Hello.. ehhh, whatever...
I'm heading back up to Boulder, Co tonight. Wich means after this trip another 22hrs will be eaten off my 240, yea. ! Last time up there were tons of hippies protesting, walking around the intersections holding up anti- this or that signs. One even got infront of the truck and was trying to prevent me from turning into Target to doc. I swear hippie/tree huggers were worth 20-30pts right?? lol.
Hope to see ya out on the road ! I'm always wearing my green Interstate Battery ballcap, stop me and say Hi, or F-off, or what ever.. lol..

Stuck in Phoenix getting another mentor. Looks like mine is on the Target reefer fleet. I'll be running the same run you are!

Thats awesome dude.. ! I just got back from Colorado this morning, 11am'ish.. heading back out at 4pm, up to northern cali.. Im feeling major road burnout, but I think it's due to my mentor making me run 4pm - 5am every day.. I told him this morning when we got into the DC that we need to change shifts, as all im doing is driving your miles, I need to be more alert and focused, yada yada... Reply was "Yea thats a hard shift to run"..
Well, maybe it was me being tired and or groggy from just waking up, but I got a feeling the mentor got a lil pissed at me for speaking up. I mean I'm here to learn to drive, back, the QC, etc... NOT drive all night so I sleep thru everything the next day.. NOPE.. We shall see after this Cali run.. IF not there will be a mentor out on the 5 near Redlands that needs a ride back to Phoenix, can ya pick'um up..
There venting done, lol.. I'm just sooo ready to get SOLO status and run my time, pace..
Talked to a good friend of mine two or three days ago. Said he got a flatbed mentor, and swift got him a greyhound ticket up to meet him, where I forget, the bus had issues so he was running a little late, called his mentor to let him know... Mentor's words.. I'm not waiting on you, were done, get another mentor... WOW.. After hearing all these mentor stories and talking to friends, whats up mentors??? That blue shirt make yer heads swell that much.. ?? It's a good thing WE students can give our feedback each week and make comments, etc.

Mentors are not supposed to make you run all nights. Talk to your DM about it if it doesn't change.

Keep it up buddy, I'm pulling for ya! -

Congrats hammer! Sounds like you've already got to see some cool stuff. I can't wait to get to tn and go through academy. How do you like the Fontana terminal? We are relocating to Visalia ca after I finish with training and that should be my home terminal as well. The rabbit comment made me lmao hehe. Be safe
