Is it reliable engine? Are the parts available? Can be done in-frame or the engine have to be removed?

Question for Canadian drivers; Is it powerful enough to pull 53 ft dry wan over Rockies?

93 freightliner, 18 sp. 1,2 mil kms on it.

The few we have seen at this age and mileage start to develop misses that end up being a failed cam follower that takes out the cam too. Yes it can be rebuilt in chassis, but if are going to rebuild it you should replace the cam and followers too. In that case you should replace the whole engine.
