Can anyone suggest a good SWR meter for field use. I might also want to leave it in place in the truck. Just looking for a quality, accurate meter and trying to keep it below $100.00. Any help would be appreciated.

I've had good luck with the Radio Shack meter. It's less than $50.

Yup, Or the Vanco meter. It's cheaply priced and works very well.

Here's another vote for the Radio Shack RMS/PEP/SWR meter. It sells for around $50 and performs as well as meters costing twice the money.

Works very well and worth every penny spent, for those seeking
"plenty good enough"
Just dont hit them with much over 100 watts or they get
kinda goofy.
I bought a used one at a yard sale for a bud,he is pleased with it
and for $15 it was a good buy.

Bummer. I just recently picked up a Maco Mite II linear and I wanted to see how much power I was getting out of it. The meter (on the highest scale) was reading a 50 watt dead key and over 200 watts of modulation. I figured it was lying to me.

If you guys are running power don't cheap out on the meter as most of you already know high swr's and power are not a good mix.....you need an accurate meter..
