one trr junk install slam post will never cover the years many have had
their rfx cobra's.
Properly installed and properly run the rfx cobra will destroy
any of the low rent Connex offerings(50 watts verses 100 is a no brainer)
Again, with the literally hundreds of satisfied RFX customers
from both Sparky's an CustomCb how can you make such a post?
You took the low rent route and had a golden screwdriver do the hack
on the cheap, you then try and run the unit WFO and expected it
sound clear?
As with most things in the world, one must be smarter then what one is working with or it ends up a long shot . . . . .

AND what did it do to the receiver
-
Get yourself a good mike, RK56, Aristat etc and your good to go. All that echo box stuff, toss it out the window, has no practical use whatsoever.
-
I agree with you Bruce.....
HOWEVER, I am considering buying a brand new Magnum Omegaforce S45HP.
If not that, then I'll buy a Magnum 257. Both of these "COME" from the factory with the RFX75 installed AT THE FACTORY,......................................and not just an add on that Bubba at the snip n clip CB shop at the local truck stop added.
So my question is how well do the RFX's work on the radios where they come at the factory....???????????????????????? -
My guess is since they BUILT the radio to work with it it should work ok.
-
Stick with a 95t Galaxy
-
But again you fail to give credit to the shops that do go the extra mile to insure their product performs correctly.
"Correctly" should be understood as
"stable" and not tweaked out to two notch's before detonation.
The Youtube vid shows Dougs RFX swing 130pep,yet Sparky sets his up
doing 100-112 pep and never mentions 130pep.(Ive never seen anything close to 115 muchless 130 on several different bench's)
Cobra chassis have been proven for decades,Magnums short history
of stability is easily found
Gotta give props to the lips servers that have never fingerprinted
or even heard an RFX unit, stock or otherwise.
Cobra receive has always sucked outside of a select few SSB units
Doing and honest RX tweak mod doesn't even compensate for just how bad Cobra chooses to design their platforms.
Thank gaawd none of you ever put a 4bbl Holly carb on a small block
In reality thats all the RFX is,radio TX Horsepower
When set up and tuned correctly they run as good and often better
the equal competitors and they do it for less money.
Sounds like the "perfect" Truckin Radio set up to me

Cobra 25/29 with a 4bbl . . . . . .
-
Heh I've done this a few times. I've even put one on a big block once.
-
Can you show me under what FCC rule you build a TRUCKING RADIO

Also if the RFX75 is so good why do you not see any ham radio sites using them on low power 10 meter sets
I tried one it was not much and did decrease the receiver Bottom line even if installed at the factory i doubt it is a good choice.
-
apples to asparagus there bruce, you continue to force your religion on truckin folk running amped up Cb radios. Its your choice to worship that fictitious entity of almighty power and control.Your playing fcc net cop, messiah to all things radio
and the quality knowledge you share is diluted greatly by your incessant
bashing of the "Truckin" business and how its members "CHOOSE" to cut their trail.
Just another sign,speed limit,wash your hands,use caution,do this dont do that cant you read the signs . . . . . "****-***-***-****-SIGNS!!
Truckin Radio's are not governed by the fcc,if they did we would all be truckin at 4 watts.
THAT IS NOT THE CASE!! so we continue to do as we as free Americans choose to do.
The world outside your police issued box, could care less then less
Chances are someone has in fact had a donor LP-10 meter and modded it
Likely a pretty smoking set up even run a half throttle.
Running 100+w on LB-10 would no doubt give "somebody" tears and a runny noise.
OH WAIT!!! it (we)already(do) does . . . .
