14 speed Volvo Transmission and Eaten 264 Rears.
It doesn't turn off and on with the switch that's on the dash.
I'm thinking about pulling the fuse.
I just bought the truck and drove it only five miles bobtail to the shop when I noticed this.
Were they trying to save brakes?
It is much harder to downshift with that brake on, I can hardly do it.
Is it hard on my old motor too?
I know it saves on my brakes and I like that but I like to use the switch on the dash and use it gently and sparingly so I don't hurt the motor or other parts.
1997 Volvo w/Volvo Engine, compression brake is always on and in the low position

That's interesting I'll look into it. Thanks

D12B - no VECU, directly controlled from cab and usually there are two problems - bad wiring and stuck EPG (valve on turbine, it is Exaust pressure regulator).

to be sure use VCADs Pro to inspect switch conditions ore you can use test button. 4X codes are not fault codes but condition codes. They are used to know what switch is on ore off...

Thanks, I'll look into it.
