Sleep? WTF is that...I used to know that word....alas, it escapes me (often enough.)
Yes, it sounds like the trucking lifestyle hasn't quite meshed with ya yet....but hang in there and it will. One the things I do is type on my qualcomm when I'm down for sleep. However, there are annoyances like this morning when I was driving and dispatch kept sending me "urgent" messages to see if I was delivering on time (of course I was.) I called dispatch and told them I couldn't answer the q-comm or even read it as I was driving. They'll learn one of these days.
Dispatchers and drivers need to communicate to make it work, have a LOT of patience with each other and sometimes just go with the flow.

It isn't that I am not acustomed to life on the road. The problem is the company has been auditing logs etc of drivers. If a driver is moving when your log says different the driver is being sent home. I have seen them use fuel recipts, tolls and qualcomm to fire people for false logs. So, I know how to do my job, the new HOS rules are pissing everyone off and I am not getting run over.

Just disconnect the Quadcomm and turn off your phone -

What I am getting at is a dispatcher cant run a driver any time of the day anymore. Once the day starts 14 hours from then it ends. Mine does not understand that is all.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Do they really ever? lol

What new HOS are you talking about? -
Dispatchers don't have the time to look at the log books of every truck in their fleet to see what their driver is doing. All they see on their computer screen is a available truck with a empty trailer. If you think otherwise, then I recommend to you that you work as a dispatcher for a few weeks. You will gain a whole new level of respect for them.
