And soon DOT will know how to read them.... and if you go one or two minutes beyond your 14 or 11, that violation will show right there....

Who do you think is funding the lobbying efforts? They fund MADD and the US Chamber of commerce which has nothing to do with your local chamber of commerce!

Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner! Ever see the rail commercial showing a drop or two of diesel claiming that they are better fuel effecient?

Ever see CARB in California bust a locomotive for idling?:biggrin_25512: Check their emissions? :yes2557:

    Rocks Thanks this.

The other day my friend, o/o got 2 pts x 3 = 6 pts on his CSA cause officer said he was missing one clip that separates air lines under trlr.... said was code 395.42 (b). My friend got so mad almost disrespected officer and left. Later he found the clip was there, just not connected to other air line. And without being able to see inspection, how can he tell what really happened under that trlr during inspection??..... :biggrin_25511: BTW, I couldn't find code 395.42(b) in the book...

Can't touch 'em with a 50 foot pole driver...their exempt, they don't pay fuel taxes or social security. They operate on private property.......

and they are more efficient at moving freight than we could ever be by sheer tonnage moved but this what makes them so efficient is their downfall too. Slow and no point to point.

Last time I checked it took 62 days for the rail to flip Chicago out of Houston. Normally it's 45 days. I think we're a lil faster than that.

Anybody think CSA 2010 will be on the chopping block because of budget cuts?

Nope. The agenda is being pushed by MADD, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The railroads fund the whole thing.

I tried finding out who it was that wrote the original legislation, could not find it, I would think it was more of the insurance companies that want this stuff passed.
The days of hooking to a trailer and going are over, you have to do a proper inspection of your vehicle every nut bolt and washer and document what you found and who you told. You will need to replace bulbs, and be sure things are right, I did not know, and I could not see that is not an excuse anymore.
Were I live there is a brake check on the hill above our town many units do not stop many never look or touch anything. As an industry we need to clean up our side of it, but when you are under pressure to get the load threw, a driver almost needs a recorder and ask the questions. When it comes down to it the driver is the one that will get nailed, fined and fired.
    Welcome to the real world.
