That's my point.... the young ones hear that from an early age.... referencing how bad we truckers are.

Ya know the most ironic part of all of that is that most of that kind of stuff most likely comes from people who can barely handle running legal yet they have an inferiority complex and when around other people have to make up these big ######## stories about how they do that stuff when in reality they couldn't do it even if it was legal to do so. They lie so much that they begin to believe themselves and it spirals out of control every time they open there pathetic mouth. Us fellow truckers can smell there #### a mile away but everyday people like your talking about that don't work in this industry have no clue that they are so full of #### that they could start their own waste water sewage treatment plant. Hence the outlook that most people have of us.

    Funny story,

About 2 years ago while I was on the road a friend of my daughters came by the house with her grandmother to see if my daughter could come over to there house down the street and play. My wife gets to talking to the grandmother in general conversation and she out of the blue proceeds to start badmouthing truck drivers to my wife. Telling my wife how all truckers are nasty low life people and they use hookers all the time and cheat on their wives etc.... this went on for several minutes while my wife just stood there in disbelief of what this lady was saying to her. The lady finally quits talking about how bad us truckers are and asks my wife, "So what does your husband do for a living"? :biggrin_25523: Needless to say my wife is a helluva smart ### and so she smiles and says oh he's a truck driver! If only she would have had a camera to get the look on that womans face! :biggrin_2559: For some reason that lady never came back to our house with her granddaughter to see if my daughter could play. Still to this day my wife had no idea where the whole conversation even came from in the first place.

Well, you have to make it first!

    4 cups sugar
    8 tablespoons corn syrup
    1 1/2 cups water
3 or 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup nuts

Cook all ingredients together, except nuts, to 238°F. Cool to 110°F. Beat until creamy. Add nuts, and finish by kneading the cooled batch by hand while still workable.
Shape into a round roll and slice off pieces.

Putting it away for at least forty-eight hours, in an air-tight container before slicing it, will improve it considerably.

    alds and M818 Thank this.
