Yup. Went out for a week, but been stuck here at the house for a week because my trainer got bronchitis. Hopefully leaving today or saturday again. I miss the open road

How was orientation? Did you have to wait very long to get an instructor?
-
Orientation was boring yet exciting lol Long boring classes, but exciting to be closer to getting in the truck. lol I did not... I spent a ton of time out on the pad looking as pitiful as I could so an instructor would choose me lol I got one on Friday lol It helped that I do not smoke. Not many that dont smoke. Most instructors smoke too so.... not really an issue
-
Good to hear that! I know what you mean about being excited. I just hope all goes well and I am accepted. I have a felony from 2000. I hope that isn't an issue. My recruiter didn't act like it would be. I was also unemployed from Aug '08 - Nov '09, mainly because I really didn't have to work at that time and did a lot of volunteer work. The recruiter told me that she needed 2 notarized letters from people who know me stating that they can attest to that fact. Those are the only issues I think I may face.
-
Can you get those letters? Not sure about the felony, if the recruiter tells you its not a problem then.... it was 11 years ago. Just make sure you got everything she tells you is needed
-
Not a problem getting the letters. I already have them typed, getting them signed and notarized tomorrow. I have everything else she told me I need. Any tips/advice from your experience thus far?
-
Cool. Listen to what you are told. Do not lie about anything, do not try to hide anything, do not be late for anything. Make sure you bring everything you are told to bring. Big thing seems to be a certified copy of your birth certificate. It must be a CERTIFIED copy. Had a guy in my class sent home because he did not bring it with him like he was supposed to. Also, pay attention to what is going on around you. When you get done with your classes, go hang around the pad when you can. Instructors dont usually hang out at the hotel. They are out on the training pad. Talk to other drivers, they can offer a lot of great advice.
CadetTrucker Thanks this. -
