Bad Repair shop in Unadilla, Ga. at the little truck stop just west of I75. Had starter replaced on a Sunday and Tuesday it went bad. Called the OWNER and he told me "HE DOES NOT DO WARRANTY WORK" If i want to come back to him he will install another starter BUT i would have to pay the same price as the first one. You can guess how that went over. Here is the real pisser He charged me for a NEW starter but when i got home and took it off i found it was a REBUILD. 692.00 repair bill i had to eat. Went to KW dealer and bought the same starter for 237.00 with a warranty.Go figure. All i'm saying is BEWARE of the crook in UNADILLA, GA.

he should have been able to warranty the starter if it was a delco. if you buy a part from freightliner and you or another repair shop replace it. freightliner will warranty the starter but not the labor. always ask up front if they warrenty thier repairs.

He said he would not warranty any parts period! He was not a parts house. I have talked to 2 other drivers that have done business with him and 1 of them got taken like me. Turns out he used to be in business in South Florida and he says he couldn't make any money but from what i could gather was pretty much run out because of his business practices. And yes u are correct about replacement. I used the bad starter as a core on the new one so basically i lost a butt load on this one deal. And it was a DELCO.Had i had the tools with me at the time i would have saved250. in labor. Live and learn. old saying BUYER BEWARE!

If his business is listed on the truckdown.com site, leave a review. You can put a hurt on his business that way as well.

Just had to have a tire patched in Chicago & it was a long ugly story, but noted all of it on that site. Hopefully the next person that needs a tire/repair in the same area will choose another vendor because of it.

JL Truck Service and Tires of Cumberland, MD near Grantsville, MD.
Towed the truck in for not starting, they worked on it told us it was a corroded power line from Battery to ECM, the fuse protecting ECM was blow, they fixed it truck was up running, he called us told us it is ready for $800 including $400 tow charges. Even though $400 was little too much for changing a partial piece of wire. They did not even change the whole wire to ECM cant be more than 10 feet. When driver picked up the truck it was running fine, but after he was hooked to the trailer and was ready to roll, it went down again. They took him back in the shop and came back saying ECM was blown. Which blew my mind because it was only 3 months ago we had a new ECM and Engine harness replaced. He said, it was blown because of corroded wire. My question is, why would first time truck started and running fine after changing the corroded wire. If ECM was originally blown then it wouldnt start and get fixed after replacing fuse and changing partial wire. I believe they put a patch in the power line to ECM which blew it. We ended up spending $3700.00 for getting it done. And they charged me $150 to pickup the part from Freightliner, plus 3 hours of labor $225 which is what took them to go there and get back. $375 for just to go get the part.
He was real nice and good to talk, but I have doubts.
Could a corroded wire blow ECM?

Stay away from Boyer Ford in Sioux falls south dakota. Bought 2 trucks from them and was told they had been through the shop and looked over, well they had air leaks, oil leaks & a seal out of the stearing box. Told the dealer about these things and he said he would get them in the shop and get it fixed, we came back a day later cause he said they were ready to go and they didn't do anything other than wipe up the oil that had been leaking on the motor and steering box & then he thought we were gonna pay for the labor. The salesmen we delt with is also a two faced liar, his name was Kevin Deschepper. So stay away from Boyer Ford but if you do do business with them be sure to bring plenty of Vasoline!!!!!

tec volvo in fontana, ca, stay away their service dept is so bad that the parts guys will tell you not to have your truck worked on there. they will do work that is not even approved and then try to charge you for it...oh and not even fix the probs that you went in for.

on the other hand if you are in fort worth area TX truck repair in fort worth is a very good shop. very small only 4 or 5 mechanics, but they charge fair rates and will stand behind their work. I had the output shaft seal (forward diff) done there and i made it to tye, tx. checked it and it was leaking again. took it to another shop got it fixed, called isreal at TX truck repair and he paid the bill. Very pleased!!

Mobile fleet service in yakima, wa is also one of those shops that will take care of you. they get you in and out don't rip you off and i have never had to return for bad/defective work. also pretty reasonable on the rate and will usually cut you a deal on the parts.

Ducatts Freightliner in Calvert city Ky. Had a 3axle alignment done. Took.truck out to go get the new steers put on. Steering wheel was no longer straight and truck was pulling as well as shaking at speeds over 60. Brought it back and they said alignment was fine. Said alignment would never cause shaking. Yeah rite. They tried to straiten the wheel by clocking the steering shaft causing damage to the shaft joint. They still say it wasn't their fault. Say I'm not knowledgeable and am wrong. I say it is them who has no clue.
