Some companies are telling you on the web sites that you need Hazmat or a TWIC card or a passport. Swifts dont say crap about it and recruiter dont know crap either can I find out on here. If I dont need to put money out now then I will get them after being with mentor.

Swift is a great company despite what people say, did 5 years there and ran Walmart the last year out of Apple Valley CA. Take your lumps and find what works for you over there. If you have no real roots where you're at go to Phoenix and get on 354 or move to Florida and get on 309, you'll love life a whole lot more

You are a number at Swift. I came off the road for a local job. Twice the starting money and home every day.
I was an employee at Lowe's. I was a flooring specialist. Lowe's is a meat grinder. I got fired there. It was basically I was getting to much money per hour, they wanted to cut pay roll. Also the new store manager had a hard on for me that my immediate bosses couldn't explain.
The former store manager told me to apply for a driver position at his new store after I had 12+ months of Swift. $17hr to start.
I declined to pursue it beyond the application as it would be working at Lowe's again. After talking to the former installation manager he told me I made a wise decision as delivery driver for Lowe's is extremely high stress, and constant ######## from the customers.
I also couldn't see myself humping fridges, and washing machines up stairs.
Their health care bennies are more than Swifts, and are crap.
Go do Swift, get your experience, get the Hell out of there.
For the other poster talking about banging his door pulling out of a dock? Evidently you never saw you are required to bungee your doors open.
Working at Swift your first year OTR is going to be in the neighborhood of $29K unless you get on some regional dedicated with good miles. (instant bump in pay to 1 year status on the money)
