Tell the recruiter "Google :biggrin_25515: is your friend!"....:biggrin_25523:

I gotta get myself one of those passport cards if I don't plan on ever traveling to a different country...

I just googled it. The price is definitely not bad for the card

Lol! I was in grocery DSD for two years up until they fired me. The DC in Los Lunas, NM seems to employ bonafide ####### to load their trailers. Stuff was always screwed up.

Some companies are telling you on the web sites that you need Hazmat or a TWIC card or a passport. Swifts dont say crap about it and recruiter dont know crap either can I find out on here. If I dont need to put money out now then I will get them after being with mentor.

I know you don't NEED any of those for Swift but if you have them it's a good thing for any company if you think about it.

They are the highest paid hourly associates and they can't seem to comprehend that putting a pallet of potatoes on top of a pallet of ready pack salad is a bad idea?

Swift has enough HAZMAT drivers to handle their loads already, and you only need the TWIC card if you go in and out of the docks. Same thing with a passport if you run up to Canada. It's such a large company, I don't imagine you'll need those unless you want to get them. That's how it was explained to me.

Swift is a great company despite what people say, did 5 years there and ran Walmart the last year out of Apple Valley CA. Take your lumps and find what works for you over there. If you have no real roots where you're at go to Phoenix and get on 354 or move to Florida and get on 309, you'll love life a whole lot more

You are a number at Swift. I came off the road for a local job. Twice the starting money and home every day.

I was an employee at Lowe's. I was a flooring specialist. Lowe's is a meat grinder. I got fired there. It was basically I was getting to much money per hour, they wanted to cut pay roll. Also the new store manager had a hard on for me that my immediate bosses couldn't explain.

The former store manager told me to apply for a driver position at his new store after I had 12+ months of Swift. $17hr to start.

I declined to pursue it beyond the application as it would be working at Lowe's again. After talking to the former installation manager he told me I made a wise decision as delivery driver for Lowe's is extremely high stress, and constant ######## from the customers.

I also couldn't see myself humping fridges, and washing machines up stairs.

Their health care bennies are more than Swifts, and are crap.

Go do Swift, get your experience, get the Hell out of there.

For the other poster talking about banging his door pulling out of a dock? Evidently you never saw you are required to bungee your doors open.

Working at Swift your first year OTR is going to be in the neighborhood of $29K unless you get on some regional dedicated with good miles. (instant bump in pay to 1 year status on the money)
