But then we have to remember the rules are written by career bureaucrats who know more than the guys in the trenches because they live in washington.
If we are supposed to be these "profesionals"...

Any industry that is government controlled, money driven and lobbyist watched is bound to make it difficult for the real drivers in the trenches. I can understand anyones displeasure with the industry however we as drivers must remember the things that got us driving in the first place, seeing the kids wanting us to hit the "air horn, getting that rig we always wanted or being able to impart knowledge to the "noobs" on this forum. It was because of people like wargames, redd, Rerun8963, canuck n da truck and all the other old timers on here that keep me in the game. Rethink our reason and stay virtuous to what we all are here to love and that's the open road. Y'all be safe going forward...

Driver I felt the same way that you do, but once you get used to it, it is not that bad. All I knew was paper logs and I ain't no high-tech redneck, so it gave me fits from the start. Give it a chance, you will skate through many a DOT inspection because of them.

Many drivers would operate safely... many more would run 22 hours a day if they could. Just like anything else, the few screw it all up for the many.

I do miss being able to take an hour or so off for a nap, or stop a few hours till the sun goes down and traffic eases up some.
Just one of the many reasons my OTR days are over and I have an hourly local gig now. When its time for a nap I go home and take it on the couch. -
Hello,
I've been trying to make a new thread but have had problems with it. So I was just hoping to ask on someone's and see what I get. My Husband has just started working with a company as an owner operator and we're wondering about taxes and paperwork. Does the company take taxes out of his check every time he gets paid, is there any special forms we fill out for this instead, or is there anywhere I can get answers to my questions if that would be easier? Thanks for your help! -
That may take the cake....greatest hijack of all time. I thought I was the king of hijacking.

Some people think that the government knows best... They think that the HOS "is what it is" and that one size fits all... The ones that think that are living in a dream world hauling cheap freight..The HOS are fine for general freight ( still rediculous) but it's not for everyone. They need to jump in my truck and get a taste of the real world...
