Bison?

Yeh, bet that driver is having a bad day, I used to run into that kind of
problem in Atlanta and Chicago area. Gotta leave lots of room in front
of you because there are just as many trucks as there are cars in some
areas but as soon as you do 5 cars merge in front you and you go from
good stopping distance to no stopping distance in 3 seconds flat. Hope he
had his log book in order. I'm sooo glad I quite trucking. I still read the
forums ect but now I am a conductor for the railroad. It feels really
strange to get paid by the hour for everything I do, get payed stats, and
get treated like a human being and work only 8 hours for what used to
take 12-16 hours to make before. Been doing it for a while now and its
so much better than driving a truck it's not even funny, wish I did this
20 years ago. I have a big apt and now when Im not working Im on my
computer or on my couch watching tv. Feels strange to do even that
without polling 5 other drivers on what they want to watch. I thought I
would miss trucking, but, honestly, it feels like I just got out on parole
after a 20 year stretch.

 

Well since I quit Bison I gave local a try. What a mistake that was. I guess I'm not a local driver. I made some calls to other companies and didn't like what they said. Well I'm back with Bison again. I've worked for many different companies in the past and they all suck. But this is a better one. I'm getting my miles. I hit 3700 this week and last week it was 3400. I'm also getting the long runs now. 1500 or more one way. I get my load plan and they leave me alone until I tell them what my PTA is. It wasen't like that the first year and a half. I'll be home tomorrow and will take 4 off then do it again. I think I'll stay with Bison for awhile.

 

Was it the company that changed overall, or was it your leaving and then returning that caused the improvement in your situation as an individual driver?

 

I never thought of that. I don't think they changed. But they know I won't put up with any crap. Maybe it's because I drew the line in the sand this time. I don't know. But so far so good.

 

Thanks. I'm kind of keeping track, since Bison is one of the big carriers here and I'm going to be looking for work in a couple of months.

Company driver. Don't go over there as an O/O the pay is only $1.08.

 

I also worked for H&R once. Yep run my izz off for em but did alot of sitting. Oh it was horrible sitting in Fort Lauderdale FLA....for four days.....during
spring break USA LMAO. Seriously tho they sucked. Actually their dame crooks or used to be because they scew you out of your tax deduction by paying you a 3 cent or what ever meal allowance on your cheque as part of your mileage rate.....BILLSHEEP!! Are they buying my meals ? No but they make it look like they are and get the tax deduction. Criksikkers should be hung. And as for Bison? Never. They haul Walmarts freight. Its cheap shak made in China or other places that employ cheap slaves. Another reason is another pal of mine, 30 year vet told me a story about Bison not too long ago about the MORON truck push that used to be there that tells drivers to ride the centerline??????? What an idiot. Anyways...LOL my buddy went to their yard one day with his mirror in his hand and wanted to beat the guy with it....Oh man this is funny. I wonder if their policy has been updated
