Great thread. Thanks for the post, the ones that are informative. Sounds like its not for everyone.
I sent my papers in a few days ago and still not even a call or a sign they received them. I will call Monday and see what they say.
I'm looking into getting my own truck and run as a bco for awhile and see how it works out. I'll post up how it goes.

How much time is some time??? My hubby and I submitted things yesterday, was hoping it won't take but a week or so. Is that being delusional?

Looking at 1-2 weeks, unless things have changed.

They take longer than anybody else that I know of.

But, I've heard they've lost a fair number of trucks, and perhaps things will move faster now.

    mama mia Thanks this.

Landstar can take a while to get through the process. If things are not in order or it isn't easy to check your background, you can expect it to take longer. It isn't uncommon for them to take 4-6 weeks to clear owner operators. And I would not expect them to call you. It will be up to you to do the follow up.

It took them 5 weeks to clear me and for 2.5 weeks I didn't hear anything so I called again but after waiting for 4 weeks I got something else... then they called and asked me when I wented to start and I said I guess not now since I'm already working... Then asked me why didn't I call and tell them I found something else!!! HA, you don't call me why should I call you!!! But they were quick to send me a note telling me I was removed from their approved list!!!
