Truckers...why?

That doesn't impress me much. If some starts shooting at me driving down the road. I can garuntee it will them and myself sliding off the shoulder.. more than likely with them under the truck. The pete is definately just as deadly of a weapon as your ".45".

 

They may have slowed down due to the police clocking people or just a report of one around. But I'm sure it was nothing personal against you. I'm sure they had a good reson otherwise all we want to do is get down the road to our next destination.

 

Whenever I have the misfortune of drawing a dispatch to a state with a split speed limit I try to comply with the law, as aggrivatingly as I can. If I need to pass another vehicle I make darn sure I do it as slowly as possible without being cited for impeeding the flow of traffic. I figure the more complaining and whining the four-wheeler citizens do, the sooner the stupid law might get repealed. If it never gets repealed then I intend to make life as miserable as I leagally can for the idiots who voted the lawmakers into office. It's the least I can do.

 

Cliff diving would certainly change a moron's tough guy 'tude.

 

Too many people want to hide behind a #### gun today. Too afraid to get that ego hurt from a good ### whipping that they probably need. I'm no American bad ###, I'm not that big of a guy even... but I do have some training. The only time I will hide behind a gun is when I am faced with a gun... an intruder is in my house... or someone is trying to hurt a person I love. What a sad shape we are in today.

 

I just want to be able to take a baseball bat to the "Star" of Ice Road Truckers.....for just 5 minutes.

 

I know what you mean. Super trucker at its finest. I don't want to run the ice road... so I have respect for him in that nature. But otherwise... eh.

 

What these guys are talking about, split speed limit and possibility of a cop are the most likely reason for this, I personally don't slow down on purpose, the only time I would do anything like this is if someone starts tailgating me and flashing their highbeams in my mirror, them I will tap the brakes and they can eat my bumper, If he still doesn't get the point I will just let my trailer wheels fall off just a little bit on the shoulder to throw up some gravel, they usually back off then.

Tailgaters and people who think they own the road really bother me.

 

You won't be banned from here for asking genuine questions like that. That is the whole point of this section in the first place. We WANT truckers and non-truckers to understand each other.

 

I agree on it being a speed limit thing or just two kids having fun with a 4 wheeler.
Ive been in the same situation once, so I can see it as a 'fight or flight' mode. I was traveling late at night in my car(in the slow lane) when I was passed by a loaded down car and a Uhaul truck. A minute or so later, the car slowed to pace me on my left and the Uhaul was pacing me in front. They both slowed down progressively, for what reason I dont know. I wasnt about to find out so I nailed it and passed them on the shoulder. After that, they dropped way back and didnt see another trace of them. Why do people feel the need to imtimidate other motorists? IDK
