With your truck parked, turn the key on. push the ESC on the wiper control till it clears all messages and has gauges, fuel, time and distance on the digital display. Scroll down the list with the arrows on the end of the wiper control till you get to the small letters. These are only visible when the truck is stopped. Scroll to the Diagnostics push the enter key on the wiper control, then Fault diagnostics, then Engine ECU, using the arrow keys on the end of the wiper control you can browse the error codes. It Dosen't do much good, some will give you a name of the problem other will say out of calabration, still others will say data link error. if you call volvo with the code they will tell you to bring it in becuse someone there ( and he is there hopefully) will have to check it out. but it might tell you something like #2 EGR valve out of calabration. meaning it has to be replaced. if you want to clear the codes and see if they come back hold the enter key down for 2 seconds and the password is 0000 unless someone has changed it.

Anyone have a codes list for D12?
It would be #### helpful -
Manny, do a google search for PV776-tsp188164. that'll pull up volvos list of engine codes and descriptors, and PV776-20184635 will get you a more in-depth look at more of them, especially post 2007. if you really want a lot of onfo on your truck, just search PV776, you'll have to do a loy os sorting, but can find just about any publication volvo has. Good luck

it is bad EGR, there are two EGR valves on D12D/D12F engines, this one is closer to cab, rear one, but advice - change both!
and some smart guys use Cummins EGR. They are different, but they use Volvo EGR core and put all Cummins internals in Volvo EGR core. I've never did it, but some mechanics did. They say there are hidden traps and you can spoil new valve, but Cummis EGR is twice cheapper. -
Any info about SA 16 DTC P24F700 for volvo 670 2016?
