Hi, Does anybody know how to apply for a driving job at Boeing?
Is the job title listed as Transportation?
Thanks for any help!

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

soft ball... over the plate.

No, check under "Pilot".

And I just smashed it out of the park. First time I ever hit a 5000 foot homerun.

That's just fine,
But I asked because for several years I have looked occasionally at the careers page and not seen a job listing under transportation for a truck driver, maybe I just have bad timing, or they use an outside company to screen potential drivers.
Thanks,

Hello. I'm a driver in St Louis. I get onto the Boeing Web site daily and in April I finally saw a 'Truck Driver" notice posted on their career page. Usually they have nothing but 'Engineers' or 'Scientists' up there. Well anyway, I quickly sent in a resume. A month and a half later they e-mailed me and had me click on a link that took me to a truck driver application. Then another month went by. I was just called by a lady who wanted me to set up an interview for 7*12*11. Which is a few days off.
You have to keep on checking their careers site. Jobs are posted for a week or two, then they vanish again.
I only wish that I knew how much they (Boeing Drivers)made an hour. I just got on at UPS Freight which tops out at 24.75 per hour and will soon be over 27.00 in about three years.
If you have any info please let me know. If you contact me later on I'll let you know what happened after the interview. Until then... jimguyy -
Don't give up. See what you want and keep it in your sights.

I am NOT employed by Boeing, however, I deliver to their El Segundo/Seal Beach/Long Beach facilities on a daily basis (Industrial liquified gases) and I have spoken to their drivers quite a bit. They are represented by the IAM (Machinists Union) and currently make about what you are being offered at UPS Freight. It's a decent job, but according to their drivers (some-not all, don't take it for "gospel") Boeing is constantly threatening to contract out the work. And in some Boeing facilities (not the one's listed) they actually have done so. Wish I could be more informative, but just to deliver to them (on a daily basis) you have to have a security clearance, so there isn't a whole lot more information I can give you.

Bulletproof: Thanks for the INFO. The LTL industry is fast paced and as I get older, I think I would rather do something less stressful, plus getting a week off every Christmas is nice. But the thought of being laid off or replaced with contract drivers is a real concern to consider also.
