I'll be darn, that truck does hook and pull a trailer!

VERY nice looking setup. I'm sure that's the recipe for some major miles and decent $$. Good luck to you my friend.

I 'borrowed' this trailer, truth be told....I had planned on getting a Benson or Reitnouer 48' fall of 2011, but Kenworth took more of my money than I had expected. Almost $10k more due to the last few spendy repairs.

So now I am looking at 1Q of 2012.... :biggrin_25511:

Ha, not going to Cali with that 48 state flat (not that that's a bad thing). Just getting ready to order a new trailer and I'm all broken up about the "not California legal" in the notes.:biggrin_2559: The term "California spread" should be deleted from the dictionary.

Coming from a guy that puts fuel in his trailer! :booty::smt064

Definitely more money to be made with a trailer than without. Sure would be easier and cheaper the other way though.:biggrin_2559:

So what's the deal with their 40' kingpin to rear axle law and all the 48' "California legal" spreads for sale (even new ones)? If a normal 48' spread is legal then why would anyone still order trailers with the axles set up 2'?:biggrin_2554:

The "CA" legal spread 40' kingpin to rear axle allows one to run on non-STAA roads if one also meets the 65' length restriction for California Legal roads. If you plan to haul lumber, virtually every mill is on a California Legal road and not an STAA road. Don't ask me why you would haul lumber but there is the reasoning.

Other wise for STAA roads and a 48' or less trailer, the kingpin restriction does not apply.

What'd the 5th cost you by itself out of curiosity?
