look i am not here to bash GTI / Gordon trucking!!!!
what in a word or words sense what i am trying to say Gordon trucking is not the same gordon trucking it used to be! there use to be a waiting line trying to get a job working for gordon!! not no more!! Larry Gordon took care of his drivers no matter what fleet you were in hands down that man BELIEVED IN HIS COMPANY AND "HIS DRIVERS"!!!! can i not say it any better?? now steve gordon has control and this man has sold this company out!! there is no trust in this man!! everything is documented on the computer!! the DAC services LOVES this man what ever you do what ever you say verbal or electronic is documented too say hey look it is not us its the drivers fault! not how many times have we heard that!!
yes this company is gearing up right now to limit its drivers to run 10 / 13
what DOT is looking at and 168 hour cap per week at that point you WILL have to do a restart!!! but in truth you will be dispatched on runs that if you figure it all out will be between 8 and 9 hour runs per day or less
at a max cruising speed of 61 mph even less in a 55 mph state you all know I-5 is getting to be miserable to run with limited parking and if you are not in a truck stop and stop along the road you might be getting a $55.00 to $80.00 parking ticket
electronic log books they are jamming thees things down all drivers!!!
now i am not totally against them but you all know they tell you when the delivery time is an were your next load is and what time to pick it up
then we have to MAKE IT HAPPEN now does your plan fit into there's??
hence back to Steve gordon you Will be written up if you are late for any pickup or delivery even if it is the OFFICE'S FAULT!!
get work done on your truck at one of there terminals is a joke figure on sleeping in one of there very worn out chairs!! due to heavy use??
i do not turn down no load but i have to beg claw and scratch for every mile i can get but it is like i said above they do not will not give you the miles and you are only going to get paid for dispatched miles!!! looking for mty trailers you do for free deadhead miles? half of them they will not pay you!! mileage between customers in the same town even up to 50 miles they will cheat you out of that!!
and the burner of all they say they pay practical miles but it is in truth rand mcnally zip code to zip code
in reality gordon right now is no better then swift, hunt, ect.
and yes you do not want to know about most of the dim-whits in the office
that try to make you feel it is all your own fault!!! they are getting this book down on how to play you!
a few more years and i can flip them ALL THE BIRD and tell them what they can suck on!!
if you got a job and it is livable stay there if ya cant live with it stay away from the big fleets

Sorry Guys but I'm right there is no Green Grass over here
Now if Larry came back and ran it the wa he did then i think yes there would be a waiting list to get on with gordon!!
what you will not get paid for at GTI
    pre and post trips
    holiday pay
    drop and hook pay
    live load and unload pay
    safety bonus pay
    mileage bonus pay
    fuel mileage bonus pay
and any other pay except for straight mileage pay:biggrin_25523:

    :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

Sorry, just struck me as funny that you led with that line and then proceeded to drag them across broken glass.

    Anyway, carry on. :biggrin_25525:

well if i could i would drag them across broken glass!
there is allot that is not said about most of these big fleets!
multi million dollar mansion number 8!! for the family
    two freightliner dealerships
750 government subsidized new trucks with 250 more on the way

not against the family making money but not off the backs of there drivers!! when they took all the other pay they use to pay like the other fleets did. to make a bigger profit what do you do??
    shut up and take it??

I find very little I don't agree with in your statement. I drive GTI also, and when I signed on they didn't pay those bonuses you mentioned, so I accept what I bargained for when I hired on. What I do believe is that if you believe you are worth more than you are getting, you should find someone willing to pay you what you believe you're worth. If you don't then YOU are accepting their terms. Yes, there are jobs for experienced drivers with good records. If you pull for GTI you surely have a good record. For clarity, I like the 8.5-9.5 daily runs, I stay out 4-5 weeks and no resets. Average about 400-450 miles a day 7 days a week on The U.S. fleet.

I like the way you had a similar thread you started a week ago, and started another. Why didn't you just continue with the old thread?

Seems that this is really no different from any other OTR company. So much was left out in pay.

Road expenses were left out as well. Very expensive.

I guess it just goes to prove that if you paid a driver FOR all of there on duty time, junk OTR companies would either fold or as you stated, drivers would be waiting in line to seek a career there.

Don't worry though, its not going to happen. Trust me

    Drive safe

no I'm not saying that I'm a gold plated driver!
been here at GTI long enough to tell my dispatch when he asked me if i wanted a new cascadia no thanks!! been here long enough to have gotten all that other pay even did one of there lease purchased just to watch that baby blue truck with Detroit engine blow after 3 weeks!
when back to a company driver!!
been here long enough to watch gordon take over that small fleet in albany oregon! but i know what the true story was why that company went down!! gordon made them bid a high price on the international paper
mill in springfield or. so gti or haney could bid a lower price but since gordon and haney owned that small company it did not matter who got the contract but gardner under bided them all but then gti blamed that cascade express company!!
then they bought haneys part of that company then went in there and gutted the place most of the driver are no longer there

so no i have watch this industry change over the years longer then most of you! but i have seen THE DRIVER TAKE MOST CUTS NOT THE OFFICE PEOPLE!!! last i checked they still get holiday pay and a fer other perks
so ok fine a deal is a deal!! what you going to say the next time they say they need to freeze wages?? or cut pay?? no i'll hang out a few more year till i retire then in good trucker terms tell everybody your number 1

I agree with u im leased to gordon but i brought in my own truck so they dont own anything on it except base plate and permits, im giving notice tomorrow that im leaving because i turned down a 200 mi run that was live unload and the place it was going to is noted for taking 4 to 5 hrs to unload. and ive never collected detetion, then to get even they put me on no load board so i wouldnt b loaded so i ended up sitting 2 days and the only way i got loaded was i threatened them to quit nd leave their equipment at the closest terminal and bobtail home but then they loaded me so im working my way to home then when i get close im telling them where to go

This company is a crock. I was a local.driver out of there clackamas, or. Terminal and they let me go for false accusations against me. Was told multiple times about getting called in on for tailgating and non sense....then even got written up for a "preventable" accident. Funny thing is when I applied for the company I drive for now, there was no preventable on my DAC report. Just an incident under 3000 dollars that was not deamed my fault by state officials. So I get terminated for this but then come to find out that I never had no accident ever filed against me to DOT. Your right. That company changed. Best of luck. By the way they don't even pay there Oregon employees overtime. Just straight. And personally, running heavy haul local was worth way more then the measly 12.75/hr I was getting. I could work 69.75 hours a week and not even take home 700 dollars! Best of luck.
