Ok it's actually seven months but I have been busy..
What have I learned? One I love this job and two the are a bunch of flakes out there..
I learned that a shipper and/or receivers disposition is directly proportional to the attitudes of the last three drivers.
There sure are a lot great looking legs out there and occasionally you get to see all of their legs and more...
Traffic jams bring out all the idiot drivers on the cb... If you want to know what's happening up the road you have to endure the idiots on the cb...
new mantra for truckstops. Get fuel, get clean and get gone.. I spend my 10 in a rest area.. You can keep the day care centers...
Some 4 wheelers should be required by law to have their windows blacked out.... I'd stop looking but I'd miss all the great looking legs.
I can't believe I was once a 4 wheeler and I apologize for all stupid things I used to do..
Some fat old truckers mother's forgot to potty train them....
If I am passing 60 mph truck or car stop yelling at me. I earn my money rolling down the road too and I will get out of your way as soon as I safely can. Ok you can yell if I forget to move back over; however, I haven't forgotten the 2nd I clear the front bumper of the vehicle I'm passing.
If i am a steering wheel holder, than what are you holding onto? That was a rhetorical question...
I have to wonder if all the load mouth foul language "supertruckers" out there talk like that to their momma's or is it just on the cb.
Why do you feel the need to start trash talking during a traffic jam.. All you are doing is showing the world how ignorant and prejudice you are..
Six months and counting

It's just the CB. A quick "What's your 20 so we can talk man to man" response usually shuts them up.
Piece of advice:
Keep the CB off. I only use mine when I'm at a customer that requires it.
There's a better way. If you actually read signs as you pass by them on the highway; you'll notice blue signs that note "Traffic advisory when flashing, tune radio to XXXX AM". When that sign flashes, tune your radio to the station it suggests for road/weather updates. Most states will also give you real time info by dialing 511 on your cell. Also, before you start driving for the day/shift; check out this website for updates:

You know I was on 75 yesterday stuck in traffic due to a hazmat spill. I be darned if I saw a blue sign.....
I read signs, but thanks for that advice... -
I disagree,,keep your CB on
Sounds to me like you have a good handle on what is going on and how to handle it.. -
They aren't placed in incriments, but scattered about. Usually you'll find them before you enter a urban area, or when you cross a state border.
-
To each his own. I leave it off as I don't want to listen to the idiots jibber jabber about rubbish. I can get my own traffic updates and since my truck cant go faster than 60 (unless you start bump drafting me), I don't care about smokey updates either.
SheepDog Thanks this. -
I am well aware of where the blue traffic advisory signs are... They were NOT in the middle if Tennessee where the spill was yesterday.. Care to insult my intelligence again??
-
*sigh*
I'm not insulting your intelligence. Re-read what I stated before you make any more false accusations. All I'm simply doing is telling you there are more ways to get real time info other than CB. -
This is getting heated. Popcorn anyone? Btw, gratz celtic. Glad everything is going great for you!
-
yep read the same way all three times I "actually" read it and then you post a link to further educate me on what those blue signs means and where I might find them..
Maybe you should actually read what you post before you post it and you might just avoid any future confrontations..
