Maybe. I'm going to give them the year I owe them. After all the crap I been through with my last profession I can handle a year of this no problem. If after a year my dispatcher doesn't realize I am a valuable resource and worth keeping happy I will start shopping around. But for now I'm fairly happy. No major complaints just the usual driver b!tching. When we have a safety issue with the truck it gets fixed. Yeah the apu is broke but that's because phil will not take a couple days downtime to make sure it's fixed right.

Anyway I'm in the home stretch. Probably one more load and I'll be headed towards north jackson OH for my orientation. Then the real fun begins.

I started out with PAM many moons ago. 4 months in, I had a dedicated run...5 stops on one end, 2 stops on the other, a turn and a half per week, and I was home 4 nights a week. Stuck around nearly 2 years until they stuck me in an autoshift (they were just making the switch to them at the time). I gave it a whirl, but after a couple months it just never grew on me. I enjoy shifting the gears myself....so I left for greener pastures.

19 hours ago I was in Laredo tx. There are over 1,900 PAM trucks out there. The odds of seeing mine are pretty slim. But thanks for the honk, right back at ya.

I wish they would dropped me off in Ohio. I just finished up everything down here in Laredo Texas and I am currently just waiting on a truck assignment. Glad to hear you are doing well though. Cheers!

Being as I'll be doing this whole thing soon, I really appreciate the time you've spent allowing us to be part of your trips. Thanks for the stories and I eagerly await the next chapter. :)

Well I am currently in a hotel room in Youngstown, OH. My trainer dropped me off a couple hours ago. I start orientation tomorrow. Hopefully friday I'll be in my own truck.

Man this room feels huge after spending 3 weeks in a cramped sleeper with another person. I get to wake up and pee in a toilet instead of a bottle lol.

Well folks, this will probably be my final entry in this thread other than responding to other posts. I'm back home now. I finished orientation and upgraded. I got my own truck and it is a single bunk so I won't be teaming unless they give me another truck. I got a 2008 freightliner century with 530,000 miles. Its in suprisingly good shape inside. It's an autoshift with a detroit diesel 14L motor. I already picked up my satellite radio as I found on the ride home not having it really sucks. I got my 12v cooler, 300w inverter, tv, and other odds and ends. No apu, it uses opti idle which is ok, not as good as an apu but better than the broken apu in my trainers cascadia lol.

Anyway farewell. I am off dispatch until 6am wed morning so enjoying some home time and getting my rig ready. Next up is cb install.

    BigJohn54 Thanks this.
