Well it really wasn't planned. I decided to stop early for the day. I had been running hard all week and was a little tired. So I only drove 8.5 hrs yesterday. Yea I know I'm a slacker
Delivered this morn in Eden, got my load out going to Pine City, NY. I'm currently sitting at the J in Winchester, VA. Gawd what a nightmare. I got here about 4:30 and it was already a mess people trying to park.
I stopped early early this morn at a T/S, doesn't really matter which one because you see this all the time. But this was the cake of what I had seen up til then. I would say the parking lot wasn't even 70% full. Parking slots available everywhere. YET you still have truck drivers that will park next to the scales, the curbs, whatever just to keep from backing in or it's too far to walk. Amazing how many trucks there were not in a proper slot.
New guys, don't be this freakin lazy. Learn to back your trailer. Never pass up an opportunity to practice your backing skills.
Veteran drivers, if you do this DON'T BE SO FREAKIN LAZY. If you can't back your trailer up or too lazy to walk another 100 feet to the door, park the truck.
Ok I'm off my soapbox now.
Be safe out there and run hard!rubberducky68 and wulfman75 Thank this. -
Bear, for the reasons you just talked about, that is why I used to try and start my day at around 3 AM and be done by 2 PM. It wasn't always possible but that's how I tried to make it work. Less trouble parking for the night and less traffic for the better part of my day.

You could always double back down 328 to Rt15/I-99 to come back rather then take Rt14 Trout Run. I hate Trout Run!!!! You have a Truck Stop at Turkey Ridge in PA before you get into Williamsport if you needed fuel too.
As for trucks and parking, you ever go to a Gym to work out, sit in the car for 10 minutes and watch people pull in, they circle the freaking parking lot 3 times to park closer to the door, and they are there to work out, go figure!!!!! -
I kind of figured that. Maybe you will come through again sometime. Hope you are doing well.
Stay safe out there. -

I don't really mind trout run. The scenery is nice. I can't do the speed limit for the most part but I'm never in that big of a hurry anyway so it works out.

inverter, mine was 225 watt for the TV and razar that plug into the lighter plug, back then from 92 to 2004, no microwave, coleman cooler, when it started getting warm inside that puppy i know it was time to clean that outer coil that the fan blows cool air across, drove 10 or 11 hours holly mad cow, how do you do that, thats rough on your legs, i believe it went to 11 hours to drive from 10 back in 2004 when i left the field, i try to average 8.5 driving hours perday that way you won't run out of hours, even thou i spent time on the loading dock and that, PARKING, yep i see them drivers still parking close to the building just like back then in the 90's, those 300 lb. drivers just don't want to walk, where to park that truck, this only comes thru experience from the GOOD drivers, park away from the building far as possible, (back row on the corner) why, you MUST think of the guy coming in to park at 2am and yes he's falling a sleep and a very good chance he will clip your truck, so you make it easy for him to back into the spot next to you, straight line backing or he may be leaving and its best to pull straight out no turning meaning he won't clip you when leaving, better yet if there's a mini mart or truck stop that went out of business is also a better place to park, here you will find large car's park there, always think of that other driver, is he tired or just had a very bad day, make it easy for him, and you will be able to drive the next day and not be in the shop getting repaired for a new hood, this also works in very tight loading docks if a driver looks like he may have trouble getting into the dock NEXT to you, drop the trailer and move your tractor to the other end of the lot, he will thank you, this makes everyone's day a little easyer, i only learned this after watching other LARGECARS move so they wound'nt get hit, you learn alot just by watching others, be safe, and stay away from that HIGH traffic first row parking, i don't know how anyone can sleep there in that row, see yaa

Sitting in the Walmart parking lot at Horseheads, NY. I got unloaded at 11 a.m. yesterday morning at the cust 12 miles away. Its going on 8 a.m. now. Not a good thing, I hate sitting this long. I don't mind 2,3 maybe 4 hrs, but 24/48 is not cool.
The guy unloading me said there were two trucks in the lot waiting for loads. One had been there two days and the other one day. I knew then I was going to be sitting waiting for a load.
I went inside the store earlier this morn and bought a few things. The total came to $6.66. Couldn't help but laugh, how fitting.
On the inverter, I have a 300 watt inverter for my tv and phone mostly. I also have a 2 quart crockpot I use it for some times. But I want a bigger inverter so I can get a microwave and use my coffee pot. That would be killer savings for me in the long run.
Be safe and run hard gals/guys.
