I checked, it's 4 points. You're allowed 12.
Also paying the fine is the same as a conviction. Effective this past January, you have 5 days instead of 10 days to report it to the state.

There is a difference between the both states. YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY. -
Mine in MI, I275, 4 pts, 150 fine, left lane violation, than it came back illegal lane change, hard to fight b/cause signs were posted, even though I didn't see them, general rule, stay out of the left lane on a 3 lane highway if ever in doubt, I went into it b/cause the cop was sitting in the median, 4 wheelers hitting thier brakes b/cause they see the cop, and no one was even speeding, but they hit the brakes anyways, so dummie me just goes in the left lane to avoid all that, what you don't know CAN hurt you,I was new and didn't know this was a no no.
-
Your right. I forgot about the third lane law in the cities of Tn.
-
Not a good thing to have on your record.
Fight ALL tickets !!!! -
I find IN the most picky about the left lane. I got yelled at twice up around Gary but never pulled over.[/QUOTE]
In Indiana if you looked in your mirror and seen 2 cars racing in the right 2 lanes and you move over to let them go by; good chance YOU will get the ticket for being in the left lane!!!!
-
So if they only allow you to use 2/3 or 1/2 the road....can we just pay two thirds of the fuel tax?
-
I called the Tennessee DMV today and they told me 4 points. That's not good and it is worth fighting, but nowhere near the 6 points I initially feared it would be.

I wish I knew that law. Most of you know the no fly zone on I-65N leaving Louisville. I always respect that area. It ends after Exit 9 around the 10 mm. I was in the middle lane and the right lane turns into the exit for #9. Traffic was backed up about a half mile in the right lane only for some event. I was following a 4 wheeler in the middle lane and he locks it down right at the exit split. He was trying to sneak up front. We just passed a bear in line. I started to brake and seen it was a very hard brake, so I stepped in the 3rd lane to keep from hitting him and damaging my freight. It went smoothly as the idiot sat in the middle of the road. The lights come on and the cop came after me. He chewed me out for being in the left lane and let me go. He knew the law and I didn't, but he still wanted to be a butt. If it happens again I'll still do the same thing.
