Hi temptin, I am no longer with CRST...Other than them being a "Hurry up & wait" company, they were a pretty decent ccompany. I lefft for perssonal reasons. I came home for home time after my 28days training, got home the morning of May 12th, was home 3hrs when I got the phone call that my 18 year old son was just killed in a hunting accident. I have other children & grandchildren. My priorities changed. I went to work with Mabe's out of 3den, NC. I usually get routed through home every weekend. More time wiithout being overbearing (with family) is very important to me. Y'all stay safe!

If you can get your blood sugar under control without insulin then you should be able to get back to work. See if you can control it with diet or pills. I have a friend who has had a problem with his sugar for years and controls it with diet and pills. -

Why in the hell would anybody willingly sign up for this punishment? I'll never understand it.
Sorry to hear of the tragic death in your family 18wheels. Please take care.
This week (on this board) will almost certainly include at least one other person......that will feel that everybody on here that has been kind enough to share their own experiences is a screw-up/slacker/dummkopf and will go ahead and make the CRST plunge. A plunge, I might add, that is equivalent to jumping off a 30 foot spring board, in a forward dive into 6 to 12 inches of water..............
I told you so. -
This thread still going?
I leave for CRST orientation next monday in oklahoma city.
Ive had my cdl for 6 years but it was always local delivery, or 100 mile air driver stuff, with Pepsi and Budweiser
This will be my first OTR job and from what ive read about crst it seems that you kind of have to get lucky enough to get paired up with a good driver to make some money. Most of the complaints on the internet appear to be from people who had to attend there CDL school and sign contracts for .20 pm or some $50 dollars a day deal...
They quoted me at .30 for the 28 days and then .31 after that, with a $600 sign on bonus, first 300 in first check and second 300 30 days later.
Its been a few months since ive been in a truck, and even longer since a 10 speed 53'. Local delivery I always had Automatic day cabs with a 48' slinging it into hooters (the original) parking lots in clearwater florida (retirement capital of amareica) at lunch time. I cant drive one with my eyes closed and im hoping that shifting and having the 53's comes back like riding a bike.
im going straight into orientation, can anyone tell me how the process works? do they give us some practice before handing us the keys for the test? a few hours behind the wheel and im sure id be right back at it. What do we do on each of the days, and can anyone tell me what there facility in oklahoma is like? I could really do without the negative comments in a response, this is my first otr job and everyone has to start somewhere. and like i said, theres no contract with me and i already have my class A. Thanks guys, looking forward to getting to know you guys as this is my first time on this forum -
I am having to take CRST's refresher course. My question is if I already have a new and valid health card, do I have to take their physical or do I get to skip that and just do the pee test?
Thanks
