Thought I'd say "Hi". After three years on the home front, I'm lookin' to get back at it. Except this time, I will be solo. My husband and teammate has had back and neck surgery, so he is stuck at home. I'll miss him most of all, and Sundays at church, but ya gotta do what'cha gotta do. If all goes well, I'll be starting soon with Pam Transport. Due to breast cancer eleven years ago, I have to have an autoshift tranny. US Xpress wanted me to do 160 in a refresher course, but with PAM they seemed satisfied with my 80 hours. After passing my physical, I had to do a Functional Capacity Exam so PAM could make sure that I could still do what I need to do. Am I excited? Yes! Am I nervous? Yes! Am I ready to get on with this thing? Yes! Yes? So I'm looking forward to a little bit more money and health insurance eventually. When I went to school to get my CDL, I went the community college route, and it served the purpose real well. To those of you who are getting in a big truck for the first time, if they can teach me to drive, they can teach anybody. Just be patient with yourself. Not everybody learns at the same rate. Take care, and see you out here soon. Take it from someone who has three driving awards, remember, always remember: Safety comes first. If not, you might not be here for whatever comes second.
