Fuel went up .16 cents here in the last couple of days. Paid $3.72 this morning at the local Coop. I am just glad I am on a 12 mile haul and not burning much fuel this week. Getting a light shower and a lot of thunder tonight.

. Hauling July contracted wheat off of farms, purty good pay too but i'm afraid it ain't gona last long, saw some ''red-taggers'' in there today
. It's been hot and humid here lately too,97 today and 98 yesterday,me and Molly took 2 gallons of water with us today,( frozen used milk jugs) and came home with both jugs empty!
On a positive note,my 'ole cat averaged 6.14 mpg this past quarter, not too bad for an old relic
.
Ya'll have a good week and stay hydratedBig John Thanks this. -

Something new happening around here. They have county sheriffs doing DOT checks around Wichita. It was bad enough when state was doing it but now the county. Evidently the county needs more revenue.

I heard that john, in the past two days ive gotten two flats. Ive been wanting my own truck for awhile now but I was thanking God it was a company truck i was driving this week.
Crop, Congratulations on the new addition to the family! That looks like a decent old freinghtliner would it be hard to insure a truck that old? I hate to see what happened to you father happen, its a #### shame... -
Well congrats on the new kid CJ (future trucker, lol). To bad about your dad and his business I hate to see the older guys get out of the buisness but you have to change with the times and laws. Well I am glad you got a truck and you know the history on it. What ever you decide to do I am sure you will make the right decision for you and your family. Be safe!

Oklahoma is getting there new chicken coops built this year and next so it should be interesting on the big road. The first one just south of the Kansas/Oklahoma line on I-35 should be done this fall and the next one on I-40 just east of the Texas/Oklahoma line should be done just after the first of the year. They are talking about manning these 24/7, I don't see it happening when the state is broke but if they plan on revenue from truck fines it may happen. The Oklahoma trucking association is for it and had an article in the Tulsa paper the other day saying overweight trucks are tearing up our roads and bridges, even at 80,000lbs they are doing lots of damage and then the trucks that are hauling over 80,000lbs are doing more damage. What was funny at the end of the article it mentioned the government proposing to raise the weight limit to 97,000lbs.wheathauler Thanks this.
