That's how companies with good safety ratings keep them. Policies, policies, policies.

it's easier to make a u-turn when all you have to look out for is a moose

I don't think there is one business trucking or not that do not have polices. The trick is to find one that you can live with. I don't think Schneider's policies are unreasonable. Idling....all companies want to limit this. Not to mention states and businesses. Out of route....of course they want to limit this also. It all comes down to $$$. Less overhead and expenses...more profit. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. U-turns? Well it's all about the risk exposure. Let me just put this out for everyone....We were on the New England toll road. A Heartland Express driver took the east bound lane as did we. I guess he decided he should have gone west and with that he got into the left hand lane and made a U-turn through an emergency turn. He was lucky not to have caused a multi-car accident.

Do you guys have rules about using your turn signals, because I've run across more than one of your fellow northerners who seem to think that that stick on the left is only for hanging your cell phone on....

The company I'm with now barely has any policies. So I'll argue against every company having policies. Id love to have actual policies so I could explain why we are disciplining folks.

Cool, now maybe Canadian drivers can work on driving their rigs between those divider hash marks they have on the lanes in the US and pull forward on the fuel island after fueling instead of going inside to eat becuase they are too tired to park from all the extra miles they get swerving in and out of their lane of travel.:biggrin_25525:

I wasn't even going to touch this thread but wanted to thank Gentleroger for calling shennanigans on the op. thank God that you used your super secret decoder ring or Enigma machine to decipher that Jibber Jabber and turn it into readable form. I couldn;t make heads or tails of it myself.

My Dad always said, " Wisdom is a fountain of life to the wise, but trying to educate stupid people is a waste of time." But here you at least helped the others And for that I thank you.
