Anyone that steals fuel or anything else for that matter gets no sympathy from me...He's lucky he was caught by the cops!
Rollover the Original, American-Trucker, walstib and 5 others Thank this. -
The funny part is he's stealing so he can make a living. Why not just make a living and forget about the stealing part? That or just become a bank robber. Because no matter what you do, eventially you'll get caught. I don't think there is such a thing as a smart thief.
Freebird135 and Rollover the Original Thank this. -
Yet amazingly they all think they have figured out the perfect way to do it without getting caught. All thieves should just be shot on sight.Rollover the Original and Freebird135 Thank this.

I pulled into the TA at Earle, AR a few years ago and sat behind a double drop deck with a Cat on it and when he finished he set the pumps on the ground and drove to the parking lot and parked and sat there watching the building. I pulled into the pump and hung the pumps up and then started the process of punching in my info but it wouldn't let me so I picked up the phone and was talking to the desk and I was explaining that I wasn't the truck that just filled up with 252 gallons. He asked me if I saw which truck and as I turned and looked he was pulling out of the spot and the manager was out the door and stopped him at the entrance of the lot just before a local cop came out of the building and got in his car and joined the party.
The owner op was in a big bind. They gave him a choice right there in the drive way either to pay or go to jail and have the truck impounded.
He paid. I wonder if he still tries that trick any more?
Those that steal at the pump makes it cost more for those of us who follow societies rules. That over $700 dollar ripoff if he had made it out Scott free we all would have to pay not just the truck stop! That crapola of stealing from a stop falls down on the rest of us because someone was so "broke" that they had to steal to make ends meet.
I have to thank those who are so bad at business that they have to steal from anyone and thinks it's just fine that the rest of us gets hit in the wallet! Sorry POS if you ask me!
Something else to think about: Have any of you ever seen a truck with a pump sitting or mounted inside the side boxes with long hose connected to it? That'll tell you who not to park next to and to watch out for! One of our O/Os had that setup in his truck and when he rolled into our shop for some work the mechanics saw it and called the boss. He had a choice to make right there to either remove it and trash it on the spot or pull the plates and decals off the truck. The idiot pulled the decals and plates! I don't think any of us lost sleep over that arse wipe!
The ONLY reason a driver has that setup in his truck is to steal from those who know how to work and make ends meet! Or drives for a company and he thinks it doesn't hurt them no matter how big they are.I_HATE_MINIVANS Thanks this. -
The way prices are these days I'm kinda surprised we don't have a way to physically lock our fuel caps. PITA I know, but.....
-
There is they are called, LOCKING fuel caps.
Rollover the Original and I_HATE_MINIVANS Thank this. -
And then there are anti siphon filler neck screens for each type of tank! The locking fuel caps and the screens pretty much makes it hard to siphon fuel unless the theif has a large pair of spanners that you can turn the cap off with then a long heavy rod to knock a hole in the screen.
That's too much work and can get you caught but a real motivated thief can do a lot of things. -
thats just not even right
they deserve a fair trial
and then they should be shotAmerican-Trucker, I_HATE_MINIVANS and Rollover the Original Thank this. -
Do you really think an O/O would siphon from a fellow O/O?
If I saw someone siphoning Swift or Werner I wouldn't say nothin, I suppose others wouldn't either.
