I think you can see that each company does it different, a phone call will clear it up quickly I suspect.

Some companies will set up a weekly allowance which lets say resets at midnight Sunday. Just ask your dispatcher.

Most companies will do it as needed and you have to ask your dispatcher. They just go to another screen and load it on your card. Then it's available.

Then there's the Comcheck for repairs and lumpers. You tell the dispatcher and they issue you a code. You write the check with the code on it and pay. These are seperate from your paycheck advances and you won't see any deductions/additions on your paycheck.

Thennnnnn, you have the payroll side of your Comdata card where you can have your payday deposited if you so chose. It is withdrawn through ATM's or Comchecks with the card # as your code.

Be careful and wise with your advances. It's very easy to abuse it and you end up with a $10 paycheck. :)

Well, I asked about this in the PAM forum because I want to know how PAM does it. Makes sense, yes?

yes.......as it makes sense to ask the administrative folks at PAM how their com data system works, versus drivers, though I do appreciate your reasoning as drivers are a bit more candid.....good luck.

Okay here's the way I have at P.A.M.:
I have direct deposit for my paycheck...
Every monday morning there is $150 on my Comdata Card for expenses, truck and personal. When I use all the $150 up I have to wait until monday or call and get another advance for expenses.
As far as oil you use the comdata card for oil purchases when you fuel, that's the last message at the pump.
Additional purchaces? You push yes and when you go inside you present the oil to the cashier and they add it to the total. No cash out of your pocket.

Makes more sense to go straight to the source and ask your dispatcher. They teach that stuff in orientation. :biggrin_255:

    Glad you found out.

Well, when I was at PAM, it was $150 a week...

It will show up Monday morning at midnight. It worked like this when I was there (quit beginning of June)...

Monday morning at midnight, $150 was on card...Monday afternoon, I get a $75 cash advance. $75 remaining. Wednesday afternoon, I get another $75. $0 remaining. Sunday/Monday at midnight, it goes back to $150.

    Yeah, what Rollin said. lol

Also, if you have used up the $150 on your card, you can send a Macro umm...i forget the number....Cash advance request. I never did this so I dont know the amount you can take, but they charge a service charge to do it this way...

Unless your paycheck is going on your Comdata card, there technically is NO money on the card.
