I've talked to several and they all are doing pretty well, some even turn down load. I'm basically a owner op now seeming how my trucks paid off, and the are continuing with the miles.

You say to stay out 4 weeks and then take off 3 or 4 days off only. Why is that? Where I am leasing from (ACT) I have taken off 3 times in last 6 weeks for a full week and then the following week I made up the negative balance from the week before plus made a check for about $1000 each time. Why isn't that possible at the great John Christner Trucking?

Look whos back to stir up trouble. Get a life bigboy.Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

Different strokes, for different folks. Personally, I think your all crazy for doing the lease deal.

I'm not sure why! Based on some of the earnings that have been posted here and the JCT drivers I've talked to personally who paid their trucks off a long time ago, seems to me that the JCT lease is working out for quite a few people. Obviously, not everybody can make it work, there are variables that are uncontrollable (repairs, breakdowns, etc...), but I would say that 95% of the 20 or so JCT drivers I've chatted with have done VERY well and have already, or are just about ready to pay off the truck. I think if I were to ever lease, JCT would probably be the only place I'd do it.
But yes..... your mileage will vary.Alanp613, Wolfshayde and grannylane Thank this. -
Well I was trying to be funny. Still, for me, thats just not the way to go. Course, neither is being an O/O. Just don't have the mindset for it myself. Perfectly content with being a company drvr since I am well aware of my own limitations.
Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -

Yeah, thats kewl. I've talked to a few folks as a company driver who were former O/O's. One guy said he did it for about five years and just hated it, even though he made more money than he did as a co driver. It's all about what makes each individual tick, I guess.
