you will find bad reviews of every company......some people are too lazy to work, and then feel that their company is screwing them

dont get me wrong, im sure some of the guys on here genuinely got screwed by a company......but i think what is much more common is a person does no research, depends on the company or the government to pay for their training, and then doesnt want to pay it back

A lot, as mentioned above, is brought on by the employee. But I'm sure if there are a lot of bad reviews about said company, some of them are true. I work for USA, and work my butt off when I get a load assignment to get it there ASAP. Then I sit sometimes for a while to get another assignment, instead of them having me a load ready. It sicks, but that is just the way it is. I sit every weekend, and I think that is the companies fault on that as the weekend dispatch will not let you drop a load. All in all, I think I got one of the better training companies.

There are companies out there that don't have bad reviews on here, and the few reviews on them are all good. The reason I say a few reviews, is because no one gets on here to tell the good things there company does for them, just the bad. When I started driving solo, I started a thread on here talking about how I liked my job, and all that good stuff. The reason I did, is because I know how hard it is to get good reviews put up for you, so I felt it was needed. Then when things went bad on some weeks, I feel I earned my right to tell those bad things because I mentioned the good weeks as well. I also make mention of my FM, who generally is easy to get in contact with, and even responds to my emails on the weekends while he is off work and at home. Some days he avoids me too...I make mention of both, not just the days he avoids me, because it is only right.

As far as who to work for, basically find who you can make the amount of money you are satisfied with. That way when you have a bad day or week even, you can justify the worth of it, with good pay and benefits. I have worked in manufacturing, restaurants, car dealers, construction and now driving...It all boils down to how much BS you can take, before you tell some dude to ###### OFF!!!

It's not one extreme or another. It's 50% bad companies and 50% bad drivers.

With a name like Jubalicious, just think how popular you will be down at the TA. More work than you can shake your stick at.

As long as they are people Handing out BS these ripoff co,s will stay in business. Lets see, But your driving a new truck, Payroll got behind, Are you sure you put it in fed-ex, They know better than to short my pay, never had no trouble cashing their checks before, YOU must have lost a trip after you turned paperwork in, you idle your truck too much, I put 25 gal of fuel in so i can get fuel bonus. Hard to research when you don,t know who left or why. glad this board is here.

    Yeah, or change companies.

The biggest complaint I've had (and I've always been an O/O) is that a company will waste our time. They expect us to jump up and rush over to get a load that's only going 30 miles, takes four hours to get loaded, and costs us money. They expect us to hang around hooked up to their trailers while they do maintenance on them, at our expense. They've done some really nasty things to us.

The information that I need, is how things improve, or get worse, when a driver goes independent. Is there much more money to be made on your own authority?
