A lot of students cannot make it home to pickup their hard copy license. So usually during their phase 2 training the paper license they have expires and they do not realize this.

:biggrin_2553:I know one of the drivers who recently lost his life as a driver trainer. He grew up with my kids, and had a rather rough life. But recently was able to turn his life around, got married, had two wonderful kids, and a bright future ahead. And now this !! I wonder what kind of explanation C.R.England will tell his kids when he never comes home again ? I wonder if C.R.England will be a little more careful about who they train in the future ?

I'm truely sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. My condolences go out to his family. Sadly I doubt CRE will change their policies anytime soon. There's just too many down on their luck that keep on seeing their ad in the classifieds week after week and eventually they make that ill fated call. I have never worked for them personally and never will. Hopefully aspiring drivers will find this site before they find theirs.

I'm sorry for your loss but how is it the company's fault that this tragic event took place? It may say "CR England" on that tractor-trailer but it ain't "CR England" driving it. I dunno, maybe things have changed in the training department since I was there but I have a hard time believing it. The instructors where a little on the strict side but, for good reason.

I wish I had a real answer as to where England finds these drivers but then again, how many threads have been posted here about people asking why England is the only company that will hire them and give them a chance when no other company will? Kinda makes ya wonder, doesn't it?

I spose it was englands fault for the deer being in the middle of the road that the one driver swerved for.....

I spose it was englands fault tor the three that fell asleep.....

And lastly, I spose it was englands fault for the two that were blown over in high winds.....

Yep, let's just blame the company, what the hell? Its so much easier to do these days since no one wants to be responsible for their own actions, right?

Kinda like the majority of the failed lease attempts. I didn't fully read the contract or fully pay attention in lease orientation but since I failed, I'm gonna do what everybody else did and blame some one else because I'm a ###### idiot. I'm starting to get pretty sick of hearing it. There are some people that just shouldn't drive a golf cart rather than an 80,000 pound semi.

I don't know you but with a post like that, you seem just like the type if person I'm talking about. Please stay far away from this company as possible.

That all said with the full authority and experience that 2 years in the business gives him. Impressive.

I'm one of those "failed " lease attempts, and it sucked - my wife and I ran hard, had a dedicated gig, and with 109,000 miles, we netted 18 cpm TOGETHER... and we did very well at other companies (all 3 in 7 years)... can't control that one went bankrupt, one had bad salespeople and lost half their accounts... but hey, since you know more than all of us, maybe YOU could explain why Matlack Tank Lines went out of business in 2001.

It wasn't my fault, for sure... but since it's not the company's fault, whose is it?

REALLY sick of the CRE cheerleaders and shills blaming financial failure on drivers... and cheering for their great family attitude and all the truck driver millionaires running around. Especially with a paramilitary security force to protect their office employees, and drivers begging for food and drinks.

You're right you don't know me. What about my post makes you think I couldn't drive a golf cart. It seems to me like you're a bit predijuced against people down on their luck. Why don't you put a little thought into what you post instead of just running at the keyboard.

Well they own there own insurance co. Thats how they are able to continue like they do. But! I have to say that I workrd there in 99 and 2000 and they were better than most for new drivers.

:biggrin_25513:Two years of driving experience, and you make this sort of comment ? Have you really spent much time checking out what and how long the schools actually spend in training someone ? I was union trained in 1972,and the course took a minimum of 12 weeks to complete. And after training,we had to be supervised for 12 months prior to being let loose to go on our own.And the background check before attending school was long and thorough. Now most schools have turned into production lines .( rookie )

    You like that?

Are you threatened by my 2.6 years of experience? It's just a number, pal. Oh, BTW, no pun intended with the pal part. Sure, alot if things in the trucking industry take years to figure out but not everything.
A hundred thousand miles? That's it? Is this what you drove while driving with England? How much time did you spend there?

But more importantly ronin, why don't you be the first one and tell the WHOLE story as to what really happened instead of the buttered up part that makes you look like the complete angel and England like the worse villan ever around. Tell the truth.
Again, I'm glad you found a company that better fits you but tell the whole story, not just your favorite parts.
Since I know more than all of you?? First off, define all of you. There are some who have different views.

Second, just because I have a different opinion, I get accused of being a know-it-all...... Nice.
I really don't give a ####. What's your point? Oh wait, I know, its the feeble attempt of tryin to prove I'm a know-all, correct? Gee, maybe I am and just don't know it yet....
    Good question, ain't it?

But hell, people like you have this attitude they just can't do wrong and since England wont come in here and tell their side of the story, we just won't never know, now will we?
REALLY gettin sick of hearing the "I couldn't cut it with England" crowd whine and cry about something as easy as leasing a truck, ESPECIALLY from a team operation!

Call me a shill, call me a cheerleader and all the other bs terms that come to your little mind but don't get mad at me because I'm making it work when you could not.

Id have all that security in place too. Need i explain why? Nah, i think you can figure it out. Well, maybe.
