i look at it this way i get to drive everyday going somewhere i get to come home sleep in my own bed shower in my shower eat real home cooked food. and after work if i feel like going fishing or hang at the beach at sunset i can do that. plus i get to actually see my kids grow up and be a part of their everyday lives. i do miss getting out west at times but as soon as the little one gets on her own me and the old lady may take off and do a little otr then. i'll just have to wait and see on that one. but for me what im doing is perfect for me.

Hey CD, the nice thing about this idea is that my mentor is gonna put me in the truck I learned to drive in. it is a t660 that gets 8-8.7 on the roads he travels. lowest we went was coming out of San Bernidino with a back haul, went down to 7.5 for that trip but it only happens once every 2 weeks. Mentor is thinking about getting another truck and putting me in his current truck with the option of taking over payments, which is 1500/month, went through KW with a big down. That and I want to mentor as well, but gonna wait a year. bumper to bumper warrenty is good for another 500,000 miles. I know from running with my mentor for 8 weeks that he was taking home half of what he took in and we ran 5000 miles/week after the first week, so $2500/week after all expensises sounds good to me.
But I would be stuck running from SLC to Las Vegas or SLC to Great Falls all the time, kinda boring. as a company driver the biggest week I have seen so far is 1500 miles at .26/mile minus all the taxes and other stuff. The most I will ever see as a company driver is .40/mile if I run heavy with doubles and might see 2500 miles/week. so not sure which way to go yet. Not to mention having to deal with everyone broke down pile of sheet that needs work at every shop I drive by.
Anyone know why Jakes won't work? check the switchs at the cluth and brake, don't seem to be an issue. I can hear the jakes working but full jakes and an empty trailer and a 2% grade sends me the the speed govenor quickly. -
*sighs and sobs*
Knew my streak of good trls had to come to an end. Just didn't figure it would be my 3rd time to get one that had a hole in the air tank. Getting it replaced now. Gonna suck going thru Chicago at this time and really eat up my hrs, I'm sure.

And I wish I had left some cleaning supplies in here. Had to back into the sun and my mirrors are filthy. Cleaner now tho water streaked a little.

Jake issue could be a few things. One to check first is to try it in all settings. And see if it is the same.
Should be 2 cyl on low, 4 on med, 6 on high. This is on a 3 position. Will break down more on the ones with more choices.
If it is not hitting correctly on any then you may have a bad wire on a switch, or carbon build up on the jake actuator.
I am sure there are other things also, but has been a long day and that is off the top of my head. Normally is a wireing issue though, on the newer trucks. Also, is this with the cruise on or off? -
