Food service work pays very well .. But your body will pay for it latter on .
I blew out 1 knee / got lower back pains/ my hands have started the arthritis process ,
I see a chriopracticor on a normal basis and my knee was rebuilt
But I did made 70-80k in 1998-2004 doing it . I drove for US Foods on a burger King Route 13 stores 2 day route usually 1300-1500 cases weights ranged from
5 pounds per case to 55 pounds for a bag in the box coke
Keep in mind they pay well you will make good money , but there is a reason you do cause you don't see many 20 yr guys doing it or if you do they made it to the palletized loads ..
I'm speaking of food service in general not dominos but if dominos is anything like US foods then I'd think 2 times before I busted my body up to deliver that product ... I just wished someone warned me . But I was 22 yrs old when I started and only 27 when I was done but I quit due to getting hired at Wal - Mart Private fleet but in all honesty I think buy 06-07 I'd have been toast had I stayed with it the problems I got now would be worse had I stuck it out longer .
The bending over and turning loading a
Cart / Two wheeler / roller / will kill your back in the future I'm not saying right away ...
Dominos Pizza?

I've been at over eight years now and did four years of HHG before that. Yes, it is taking somewhat of a toll on my body but you can make a long, good career of it it with the right company. Knowning what routes to take can play a big part also.browndawg and DoneYourWay Thank this.

I agree that's what I ment , but as a new hire on a company you will have that trial and error time .

I work at the Dominos store and know one of the Commissary drivers that has been doing it for over 20 years. The area we are in runs out of Grand Prairie. It is a lot of physical labor. I looked into it myself, since I'm looking at going to truck driving school. They require 2 years 150,000 mile experience. Didn't mention anything about requirements on record, criminal or driving.

oh and also I have only seen teams for the drivers that come by our store. one downside on top of the unloading, if all the store employees have already left you also get stuck putting the cold items inside the walk in cooler too.

That sucks...

An extra five feet is nothing. Just open the cooler door and drop the stack. The store employees have to put it away in the morning.DoneYourWay Thanks this.

Good idea...

yeah if your lucky enough to catch them on a day when the walk in is nearly empty. but usually if they give us a heads up we will stick around a little longer to put it away. they make good money but they bust their ### doing it

Just a heads up for drivers looking into Domino's. I'm a truck driver for them here in the south. Each commisary work differently. Ours is about 80% team runs, They will tell you to run legal and safe, but make sure you get back in time to turn the truck over to the next team. If not you don't hear the end of it. We have drivers how stop and sleep when they are tired, only to loose their good run and get put on one that pays less, or no one else wants. All the drivers here put time in off the clock, If not other drivers don't want to work with you, which is bad as well.
Money is Great, $1200-1500 a week, or more in some cases. The down side is your always tried, you work about 3 24hr runs a week, and most of that time is spent awake, either working off the clock, working on the clock, it doesn't matter. If you do try to work legal you can't get any rest because of pulling in and out of small parking lots, you hear the lift gate going up and down. doors opening and closeing evey half hour or so. Oh and the fact the truck is shut off at each stop to save fuel even when its 90 outside. Good money, but your body pays for it.herring22, DoneYourWay and HeckIGot2Go! Thank this.
