Well I am sitting at the Troy, Il TA waiting for a driver to bring me a load to repower. going to Ohio, Yay I get to go home, too bad that the load I'm under goes to Tolleson, AZ I could use the miles.

When I was with Central, I picked up a load at the Gaffney, SC drop yard with the tandoms slid all the way back, and it was still 2500 lbs overweight on the trailer axles. Load came out of Texas, some dumb*ss driver picked it up must of "detoured" around the scales to get it to there.

I told my DM, he said hang on, and 20 minutes later I was unassigned from the load. Apparently I was the 3rd truck that "couldn't scale it"

i had one like that one time it was a repower going to norcross from gaffney was 1800 over gross if i remember correctly. load had already been turned down from a couple other drivers. i told them ill take it but i route myself and i want an extra 100 bucks for the hassle. they agreed and when i finally got moving the sc and ga scales had alredy closed for the night straight down 85 i went and got the load there . i guess they were glad to pay the 100 bucks since the load was already 3 days late.

you should have a list of drop yards in your permit book with their codes if not go see Cole at the terminal and he can get you one. you should have got a list when you upgraded.

That's my thinking too!! Now to get them to think that way :) or we might go the dedicated route - giving our DM a bit more time, but putting feelers out just in case :biggrin_25525:

They don't give that list out (that I know of) any more. I will check on it though ;) that will take away the DM excuse of not changing out the load because there is no place to drop it - LOL!

I think we should be looking at ideas and ways to communicate them
here, drop lot lists etc., make life easier for us.

We got to know quite a few when we were 48 states, and would call them on it when we got the excuse of no drop yard. I realize the dispatcher then has to cover the delivery when we drop, but that shouldn't be our issue. Anyway, I guess that is why we went to dedicated, and are happy on dole. On the dole runs, time is tight, and on most return trips, we are either thankful for the time, or can usually get a drop. On the few occasions we can't, we still take advantage of the time and go shopping, gambling, or whatever. I had to remind them this week we worked to get off the replacement's fleet twice, and we will not tolerate her attitude any more. Lextec told carl, we have too much tenure, too good of a service record, are too old, and have too many options to tolerate her. I hate that the best dispatcher is on vacation this week.

Anyway, we pick up the new truck next wednesday, then we are just working for cusion money.
