They are complaining about 400 bucks a week when they signed an agreement of their own free will to work for whatever the cents per mile rate is in exchange for experience, partial paid tuition and a start I in an industry that's tough to break into to. I don't feel sorry for them and yes they complain to dispatchers and anyone else who will listen. Are they mad? Who cares, they wanna be mad be mad themselves for being ignorant.
USA is not without its problems, so are most companies. But I've never, in 25 years working, seen such a collection of people who, with no experience, expect a journeymans wage and treatment. Then they have the marbles to say how poorly they are treated, when they are late, can't follow directions our understand the simple concept.........DRIVE AND GET PAID.
Bottom feeder or not, there's money here. I earn it everyday, I appreciate the chance to get my experience, fulfill my obligation and control my destiny when its over. 8 outta 10 knuckle heads that come here don't have the sense or ingenuity to figure that out and make it work.
Do not drive for anyone

and as for a real company, this is about as real as it gets. If you don't learn something here you have a deficiency that should be treated by a health care professional.

I was thinking of squatting on state land and growing my own food while i make clothes out of recycled bags. I guess this thread is all i needed to confirm this dream of mine. No more driving for anyone, adios.

I love my driving job. Nice equipment, paid weekly, company car, paid insurance, 0% turnover, home nightly and I get to sleep with the boss lady. What more could a guy ask for.
outerspacehillbilly and paoldschool Thank this. -
this is what has to happen so these companies can be brought to their knees. collective bargaining by maybe joining ooida? these corpoRATists are wrecking american labor and your ability to work with their control of the dac report and the lies they bring you into the company with. just quit driving and find another slave job. your not making any money anyway..

I know at my company it's always the same guys sitting there at the terminal no matter when I show up complaining. Somehow these same 10 guys always get the short end of the stick. Then they go on about how they refused this and that load for whatever reason and wonder why they're doing nothing making no money.
One guy I know well the other day told me he's looking for another job. He even told me he's making more money than he expected but he doesn't like where he runs to, even though it's basically a regional run that runs right through his hometown every couple days. Another guy was telling me he's quitting because he's getting too many miles and doesn't get enough time to sit. I mean come on, did you get a job to not work?
I have no doubt there are guys other places that do royally get screwed. I've met a few that I have no doubt weren't full of crap. I think a majority of the people just can't handle the job, and really even more, the lifestyle. It's rough and if you're not happy with the fact about being away from home all the time, sleeping in a truck and using public restrooms everyday you're probably not going to be happy with anything.
All I know is this is by far the easiest job I ever had and I make much more than I ever have. Half the guys I met wouldn't last 2 days in the factories I worked in for half the amount of pay. The lifestyle is rough, but if it's not for you than the job probably isn't either. -
It does not matter what kind of industry any one works in there is always some one ready to complain.
I am going in to my third career as a truck driver I have been a welder that sucked I have been in sales that sucked all until I made it work for me and got out of company politics where every one has problems of one kind or an other

Because every company - and in every industry, has their "plum" assignments and jobs ... and fair share of bad positions. The ones who stay usually have the best routes, miles, equipment, etc ... others get the "scraps". The question is do they deserve what they get - and how much "scrap" and crap - compared to decent runs.
