Hello everyone. Go get a copy of Ham Radio for Dummies, not that you are interested or will ever be interested in ham radios but it explanes very well how raido's and antennas work. You will be amazed at how much mis information is out there. And it will show you where to spend your money that actually makes your radio work better and what dosent. The basics are not complicated. You will be happy you did.

    Nah ........

    EXPERT :biggrin_2554:

There are few since there is no licensing for radio techs and no schools .... I repair radios for the local jail it keeps me enployed.

I see the posts about the guys who can make a $40 radio into a $4,000 radio and its a joke sadly many fall for it ...... If you want a good radio go buy it......

As for HAM radio I enjoy my limited station It dosn't take a rocket engineer to have fun of 2 FM/SSB

You could have Googled twice as much info for less money, likely getting
    current data as well . . . .

    H. Ward Silver is an Amateur Extra. And he wrote more than 6 books on radio subjects. But they're all over your head.

Most of the CB shops are not experts. And they screw up most of the radios they touch. And you pay GOOD money for it.

Very well said Wallace. But some people don't have enough brain cells to understand what you said. Just look at some of the post made.

    REALY :biggrin_25513:

And what does UNLICENSED and ILLEGAL mean since you seem to understand them or so you say ......

I hear this crap about books all the time but the fact is most laws and FACTS about radio have been around LONG before CB many are from the early days of HAM radio back 110 years ago.

EVEN the ARRL books reprint most of what was in the last one because some things just don't change .... Like Antenna gain, receiver sensitivity and selectivity and power output measurements.....
