Here's the one section of this stupid law I love:

    13. (c) it is operated by or on behalf of a municipality, road authority, public utility or of the government of Ontario or of Canada while responding to a situation or impending situation that constitutes an imminent danger, though not one of major proportions, to life, property or the environment, whether caused by forces of nature, an accident, an intentional act or otherwise. O. Reg. 396/08, s. 1

Loose translation: your vehicles have to be limited, ours don't.

Lets not leave out that it's cheaper to pass a new speed limiter law than actually enforce existing speed limits.

I can cross in at Windsor and run through to Montreal or even up past QC to NB without seeing ANY OPP even looking like they're doing any speed enforcement.

If they ever enforced the highway traffic act there would only be 3 cars on the road max lol. I run to Montreal quite a bit and I see OPP all the time... Usually giving. a trucker a ticket for parking on the side of the road so he can run in to grab a coffee, didn't matter that there were 4 teenagers walking down the middle of highway 17 just 300 feet up the road and it was 1:30 in the morning, but that's another rant

Take this from an old school euro trucker , limiters don't improve safety or fuel economy by much, in fact they reduce safety and destroy road surfaces, ( imagine: every truck doing the same speed all in a line, the battering your road will take) so guys resist it, plus it gets so boring , falling asleep accidents have shot up here, you wouldn't believe it

lol in the past 3 weeks or so I've seen 3 accident on east bound 401 near woodstock before dawn... 1 flipped sideways block 3 lanes, 1 trailer sideswipe a bridge or something and crap dropped all over the highway, and a big 1 involving a few trucks and cars which I didn't even know what happened... (I suspect all of them are falling asleep kind of accidents by the looks of the wreck) Must be drivers crossed the border, or getting out of windsor, after 2 hours of driving, in the middle of nowhere, felt asleep...

I wonder why I kept seeing some Peterbilts driving super fast, or some trucks with cracy acceleration and pass me when I am driving around 100-103... I have to leave some room for acceleration just in case my trailer bumps around or skids so I can pull it straight, to drive at 105 without any room to accelerate is dangerous IMO, which means the speed limiter is a danger just by itself...
