Among, many ,many other trucking companies.

If your a new driver looking for a start in trucking,CTL in Tampa/Mulberry Fl, is not a bad way to go....You get experience in some Interstate, alot of City, and county roads, you will drive appox 65,000 miles a year, in and around central fla. You will pull appox 1100 loads, mostly fertilizer out of the plants around bartow fl, and bring molten sulfur from tampa to the same plants in bartow, we support the central fl, fertilizer industry.

Is it a great job, NO it isnt, is it a job you can deal with until you get some time under your new belt, YES.

Some new employees gross 1000.00 a week, some 450.00, its up to you.

WE drive 6 sp, and auto macks, trialers are real old but kept up pretty
good. You can be assigned a slip seat if you can start when ones available. otherwise its a different tractor every night, tho most seem the same so its not really a problem, at least to me. !st yr, I drove 60 different tractors, and dragged 57 different trailers.

THey just cut there matching 401 K plan, tho they have a 401 K they dont match anything anymore, just as well go get your own.

there ins program is so,so, pay for the coverage you want type plan.

Everybody so far working for management, seems easy to work with, as
with every job its how you treat them has alot to do with it.

All in All, not a bad company to work for, esp for a new driver coming out of a training school, or with limited experience.

I started with them going through there school to get cdl, (I had never driven a tractor or even seen the inside of one before school), and made 37,897 in the first year. I get 2 days (in a row) of every week, and I have never worked on a weekend, you work 10 to 12 hrs a day, you get paid by the load, some breakdown pay (not much). First yr averging appox 10.30 pr hr, this job is a driving job, but its about the safe loading and unloading of Haz Mat material, which takes alot of training to learn, you get 3/4 weeks of on the lob material training, you should know how to drive a tractor when you start training but most really dont, backing is a big,big part of your night. the trainers can help, but in the end its your ability that gets you through, appox 2 out of 5 trainees dont make it through.

You get paid 80.00 per day in training appox 3 weeks, The trainer gets paid very little extra to train, just enough to cover the loads that he dosent get paid for because the time it takes to train.

So most trainers train because they like to train, and to get experience in training, they monitor there trainers closely, so most are real good at what they do. No yellers need apply, patience is the key, it takes time to learn, and they understand this, as most were new recrits not along time ago. They are the best of the best, they try to help you make money right out of ther box.

Im not a recruiter, Im a driver.

AS with most companies , theres bad and good. Its all what you can deal with, and can accept, in your daily work.

If nothing else, you will gain great driving skill for the future.
